A new 'small' project of mine. I love Freefall elements on coatsers, too bad this is not yet supported on Nolimits. But there is one way to recreate the experience and that is like this! Using a suspended coaster, a transfer track and some scripts!
Ps; I'm very sorry but I can not help you with any scripts. I realy don't understand one bit of it! I had someone help me with it, feel free to ask someone on another site like NolimitsExchange or on a other Youtube Video.
Please feel free to give your honest opinion so I can build better rides in the future!
This was definitely the first ride that I have seen made in NL2 with a drop track, and for that, congratulations. Technique: There were a few points where the ride could have been smoother, as well as there were parts that were spot on, but that is part of it being on a simulator. Nice job. Adrenaline: Nothing really wrong here. The pace for these kinds of rides are very slow to begin with, and it did the complete opposite of that. The ride was very well paced and the drop track was a nice touch to an already good ride. Uniqueness: The 10 is for the drop track element, never seen that one before. Realism: This one is the lowest because the drop track would probably not be on this style of ride. Rider Value: This one is the way that it is because of the layout and because of the drop track. There really is no better way to do a Suspended Swinging Coaster. P.S. Congrats on being featured in the NL2 Round-Up for this past week. Keep up the good work.
OOOOOOk. For some reason my rate was deleted on this ride for not having a good enough explanation as to why I rated it such. So I'm going to do this again and see if I am able to satisfy the needs of whoever decided to delete my review. I am reviewing this again because it is my favorite suspended coaster made on NL2 thus far.
Technique: All well and good where it needs to be. Supports and track work were all sound and done very nicely. On the freefall section it seemed a little bare, but that always seems to be the case with any NL2 coaster on a switch track. Otherwise, Nothing seemed over-done in terms of supports, and the design of the ride is pretty spectacular. I thought the 3 lift hill progression with each one getting bigger was a nice touch.
Adrenaline: As someone who finds suspended coasters to be really fun and exciting I may be a bit biased here. I thought this ride was extremely high in adrenaline. The pacing added to this, and the freefall drop (another thing I am a huge fan of) boosted the adrenaline ten-fold for me.
Uniqueness: Another high score from me in this aspect. Never seen the freefall track concept implemented yet on a coaster in NL2, let alone a suspended one. The entrance into the suspended coaster element was also very smart and awesomely executed.
Realism: Very realistic and this could completely be done if suspended coasters were still a popular ride style. My one and ONLY gripe with this coaster is how suddenly the freefall segment begins once the coaster stops in its place. I'm not sure if this is possible or a difficult coding task, but if it were to enter the freefall segment and pause for a few seconds, drop, pause, then resume, it would have been completely perfect. Again, I'm not sure how possible or difficult that would have been in terms of coding or programming. Maybe it was intentional, but it detracted a bit from the realism.
Hopefully this review is good enough to sustain a rate on this track. I keep coming back to this ride fairly regularly cause I love it so much. I can't say the same about other tracks.
Where do I start with an awesome ride like this? The drop section itself was absolutely amazing, very original and the first of it's kind. It kinda made the entire ride itself, but the rest of the layout was just as neat. Going around old barns and what not and sudden drops and turns made this ride enjoyable. The consistent speed was fun, and the sudden banking really made this a thrill! Without much more to say, this ride deserves a good rating.
Technique Trackwork - The trackwork was pretty decent to be honest. I think that the first two sections were very good and i think you managed the changing curves in these parts well. I think the final section could have done with some work - there were a couple of rough patches on a couple of the turns.
Supports - Supports were okay - one of the lifts felt undersupported and I felt the freefall drop really needed some bracing - especially laterally!
Scenery - I really liked your scenery structures and especially the little sign you added before the freefall was a nice little detail that I appreciated. For some reason I really liked the windmill too haha
Adrenaline Pacing / Layout - The pacing felt a tad slow in the 1st section. I can almost forgive it but it dragged on a little too much for me to be a gentle prelift section. I enjoyed the second section however - it felt pacing and had some good swinging parts. The 3rd section was good also - the freefall was also good but the section before was good. It did lack a bit of flow - most notably when the swinging sort of stalled between the two left hand turns.
The ride was constantly close to itself and the ground which made for some good close calls. In a way the layout was good in that it increased in intensity - from the gentle beginning to the fairly quick middle and ending with the centerpeice - I just would've liked to have seen either a shorter first section or a quicker one!
Forces - This ride was quite forceless. The ride was very tight which makes high forces less necessary however I'd have liked to see some more positives through the second section. The ride was well within acceptable limits which was good.
Uniqueness Layout / Elements - Easy 10 purely for the freefall obviously! I did enjoy the rest of the ride and it was certainly a unique layout which preserved some swinging coaster ideals. I liked the spiral down midway through the second section most.
Scenery - Really good effort here too - gave the ride its own identity on top of having the freefall. I think you'd have scored highly here even without the freefall in my opinion!
Realism
Tech/Adren/Uniq - Despite the buildings being good I'd have liked to see a little more realism within them. The paths from the station didn't really make sense and there was no real segregation from the ride and the pathways. The ride would've benefited with access to some more of the ride that would require maintenance such as the freefall too.
Supporting scenery - The station building was a nice addition and worked fairly well (see above points) - it would have been nice to see the scene completed with plaza areas etc.
Likeness to manufacture - The second section felt really like a (perhaps quite tame) swinging ride. I think manufactures stayed away from super intense rides as they were just too hard to calculate and build something that would perform reliably and therefore you did this bit really well.
T: Track was very smooth, well paced and the swinging was well controlled. There were just a couple areas I noticed that were a little n-supported, nothing major. Dispatch timing could have been adjusted and improved. Great work on terrain and landscaping.
A: The adrenaline was kept high while flying through the forest and then that very surprising "Free Fall" element!
U: They way you placed a coaster with three lifts in this very compact area with all the landscaping and 3D buildings was unique.
Realism: The coaster had very real Suspended feel to it, even the surprise element was a very smooth transition.
Rider Value: Great, with 3 train operation, and all the elements of surprise.
Overall, this is another one of your creations that will be a keeper for many repeat rides. Thanks!
