Thank you Bouncypip11 for your productive rate. I'll look into those 2d trees.
Please note that low FPS tends to miscalculate the G's. Only once I got a G spike beyond -1, so I can only assume that changing the trees would lower the G's.
If you didn't feel like uploading a better version of this track, I can only rate it based on how this one performs:
T: The actual ride was basically fine overall, but as I already noted the other stuff was really impacted the experience terribly. I am obviously not the only person suffering from a huge Framerate drop due to sloppy 3Ds. This basically ruined the entire track and made it impossible to enjoy. As for you telling me to remove the houses myself, no one should have to do extra work on the track that YOU uploaded just to make it run okay, and if I rated it based on that experience then I wouldn't have been critiquing what you decided to put out to the exchange for that purpose. Sorry, but that's all true. As I already noted, the 3Ds add almost nothing to the experience but do take away quite a lot as a result of the performance hit.
Support work seemed a little sparse in areas, but basically serviceable.
Gs were okay for the most part, but there were a few bad spikes which have already been pointed out. I guess there may have been more, but I could barely tell since the performance was so choppy. Other technical nitpicks appeared ok.
A: I found the adrenaline to be all over the place. So much of the "classic" side was kind of boring for me, except the negative Gs also seemed pretty strong for the kind of ride it was supposed to be. "Unbalanced" might be the best word here, again for my tastes. The newer styled ride was overall just too much. Between the two of them, the adrenaline averaged out to average by the end.
O/E (originality and execution): Very original, and the trackwork was executed well but the environment was not. In fact, you would have scored higher here if you had cut down on the houses and buildings because not only was it killer on the FPS but more importantly looked haphazard and ill-thought out. Beyond that, though, the idea could have been killer with a little more restraint.
I want to be perfectly clear here if you are not happy with these numbers: I can promise you that uploading a different version with fewer houses and trees would have gotten you a much better rate. I requested you did so for YOUR TRACK and you refused, so this is the rate I felt the original upload deserved. It has nothing to do with your refusal, and everything to do with the fact that I feel the version you initially presented has some real flaws that could have been easily fixed.
I'm torn with this one. The trackwork and idea was very good. But the vegetation was incredibly poor. I got around 4fps on max settings and after putting it on minimum only reached 10-15. I have a good gaming PC too, I don't know what NASA equipment you use to get 30fps out of this. You shouldn't the 3d trees in excess. You don't need to fill the whole ride area with them, only the area that surrounds the track. Fill in any large areas with the 2d trees, they don't destroy the framerate. The 3d models weren't to blame for the poor framerate. Anyway...
T- The track technique was good for the most part, and the majority of the track was smooth. The airtime hills however were way too powerful.I understand it's a fantasy track but they hit around -2g's in places. Pretty intense. Stretching out areas would solve that. The overall pacing was almost too fast throughout, but considering its a fantasy coaster, it wasn't too bad.
A- The tunnels were an excellent addition and the duelling aspect was done well. The framerate kinda ruined it a bit, but it was still fun to ride, racing along side the other train, through the (colossal) forest.
O- The ride had many original aspects, such as the new vs old thing going on. The layout was very original and interesting, the timberliner reminded me of Outlaw Run. The station music and little plaza was a nice addition. It definitely helped get the theme of the ride.
I would strongly recommend to unpack the ride and remove the buildings yourself. I don't have the pro version so it's not password protected.
If I would remove them they won't be there, so people would complain that there's a huge empty area and people start recommending me to put some 3DS buildings there.
Please explain to me how you get 8FPS. I can't get it under 16 FPS and my average is around 30FPS. And the things bringing my FPS down the most are the trees. Please tell me the trees are not optimized for NL.
I would strongly recommend removing some of those objects that are having a massive effect on framerate and uploading a new version. None of those houses interact with the ride beyond the station, and because they're not optimized I was averaging around 8FPS on a powerful machine. That's totally unnecessary for what this is. It's looks like a fun track but is very difficult to ride with such a slow FR as is; I can't imagine what this file looks like on an older computer.
