RLRides & CrazyCoaster Design Presents

-Kite Flyer-

Background- This ride is inspired by competetive stunt kite flying. Prepare to enter, ride the wind and show us your moves! This is an intense ride experience with high speeds and forces, dives and twists. All entrants but be 1.4meters and not suffer from back or heart problems. All loose articles must be secure. This ride is not suitable for people who are pregnant or suffer from motion sickness or a fear of heights.

Design- Inspired by Thunderbird at Holiday World and various other modern B&Ms. I've created this ride to capture the gracefulness, intensity and openness of B&M's most recent additions. Prepare to take on the 70mph launch, 3 large scale inversions and intense corners and twists. I wanted to create a ride experience that was not only fun and intense to ride but also great to watch so it sits well in the skyline.

Elements- 70mph launch Dive Loop Stall Dive Vertical Loop Ground Hugging Turn Zero-G Roll Air-time Hill Helix Butterfly Turn Bunny Hops Final Brakes

Notes- MASSIVE Thanks to Andre (CrazyCoaster) who created the station and plaza. He's one a great job and captured exactly what this ride experience is about. Enjoy =).

First off, you made a really excellent station. Simple, neat looking, and effective.

Trackwork was pretty solid. You didn't have any banking sways (good job on that, the wide trains really exaggerate this), and the track was very smooth with no pumps I could find when I was cruising around in the editor. The supports had all of the right angles and concentration, I just feel they should have been thicker in places like on the first immelman. If you look at real B&M supports they're generally thicker than what you have in the more elevated track sections. Loop connectors would be nice too. Aside from that nothing really to complain about with the trackwork or supports. G's were kept where they should be and you didn't have any crazy rotations. I'd like to write more, but there isn't anything for me to really complain about.

You had a neat layout and atmosphere around the ride. Felt real, and I liked the personal touches like the banners and the dock. It was also really cool how you walked under the launch at an angle to get to the actual station, which like I said above was well done. The ride also used the terrain well without it looking like you "forced" the terrain around the ride.

Anyways, not much to complain about on this ride and I hope you upload more.

Great work Richard. My favorite part was you presented your ideas in a way that was very believable. I could see this design being built in real life without having to use a lot of imagination on how things would really be done. Trackwork was just the right level of detail for modern B&M. In particular I liked that one section toward the end that flattens out, but the whole ride was excellent as far as trackwork goes. The only odd shaping I see mirrors odd shaping in real new B&Ms. Pacing was similarly realistic, and the layout itself worked too as a wingrider.

Someone said they'd like to see a new element or two...I can see that. Sounds fair, since wingriders have some original concepts here and there, so that gives you a bit of license to do the same. Supports on the loop in particular could have used a bit more care when comparing with say Thunderbird. Without checking, I'm guessing the same holds true for the half loop portion of the dive loop. Also your train seems a bit long and (and therefore heavy) for a launch. Just a thought.

The scene looked pretty good, what little was there added to the theme and made the ride seem like it had a real location rather than being in NoLimits land. Station was very cool, props to CrazyCoaster.

Made sure to rate everything with respect to the real wingrider designs primarily.

Great job, thanks for sharing!
