This is Big Rodeo! Big Rodeo is the sister coaster to my NL1 project Lil??? Rodeo. Big Rodeo is themed to make you feel like you are riding a bucking bronco! Right of the ???gate??? you will face a 160 foot near vertical drop followed by high speeds, big hills, and crazy turns! This coaster is built to feel like a classic! It is inspired by some of the Dinn greats like Texas Giant and Mean Streak.
I???ve slowly been working on and off this project for over a year now. I learned some cool things making this project like custom train schemes, environment editing, and, of course, better track shaping (compared to my NL2 project Coast Runner). I hid some fun things around this coaster, like putting the longitude and latitude to Stillwater, OK and the date to my birthday! See if you can find all the surprises!
The ride is setup as if you were opening the ride for a new day. All the trains are in storage, but can be moved quite easily with the control panel. The ride runs really smoothly with all three trains going, too!
Tech: Major gripe here was the supports. Your wide supports sometimes weren't connected to the ground and there were various locations where additional lateral support was needed, not to mention the crossovers requiring additional support. Basically the autosupporter won't magically complete a wooden coaster to the required standard 99.9% of the time. You need to spend some time working with it. Otherwise the trackwork was okay, the turnaround off the lift hill was a little abrupt. Also please leave at least one train in the station, it's just time consuming to have to play ride-op to ride people's rides.
Adrenaline: The ride had the big factor about it - just I don't think you really used the forces to create an intense ride. Every hill was floater or less, which showed a lack of variation and a lack of force which you have so much potential with when you design a bigger coaster. You also lacked any properly designed laterals - it felt like you just set the ride up the have "0 lateral g's" throughout the track. Woodies thrive on great laterals combined with airtime.
Uniqueness: I really enjoyed your little cabin on the MCBR and the queue line etc. were nice additions (although the queue fence is far too tall!) I just didn't feel like the ride had it's own identity that it followed. For a rodeo I'd expect tonnes of quick transitions and ejector airtime, this tended to float round the track without great purpose.
Realism: Mostly covered points in the categories above. The ride operated correctly however with a decline brake run etc. The ride might've been expensive but I think it's probably just about buildable.
This was a great ride but the beginning was a bit weird. This was the one and only coaster I've downloaded where I have to load the trains onto the track myself. It was no problem for me but for new users I might of been a bit of a challenge. I still think you did a good job with the track and the scenery and the lights were a nice addition.
