DragonFLy is a Launched Wing Coaster inspired by Thunderbird @ Holiday World. If this would be a real coaster, it would be the tallest, fastest and longest Wing Coaster.
Facts: 52m/170ft tall 1445m/4740ft long 70kmh/43mph uphill launch dropping into an 76?? steep drop 113kmh/70mph Top speed 4 Inversions: Loop, 0-g-Roll, Dive Loop, Inline Twist.
T - Track work was smooth as can be in my opinion. The structure was sound and all the G's were great! I'm not really sure why you've programmed the train to stop before launching, it would made more sense to me if just traveled up the lift without stopping (think Hulk or Maverick), I also think doing it would made the ride more enjoyable in a really life setting.
A - Definitely a fun ride, I think it could have bit a tad faster just give it that "OMG, this thing hauls ass" factor but, it was still really fun! The double hammerhead turnaround and overbanked wave like turn after the MCBR were my favorite points of the ride... Oh and can we talk about the back seat airtime going over the lift/launch? AWESOME! I think there was a choice of elements here and I wouldn't have changed a thing about the overall layout of the ride.
U/R - There aren't a ton of launched wing riders on here but, there are a few... I definitely think you executed it the best thus far! Definitely something I could see B&M designing and putting into a mid-large scale park. The mag fins were also a really nice touch!
RV - This is definitely a ride that I would make a special trip and waiting in line for... or just pay the extra arm and leg for a fast pass! Lol
Wow Der Muffin I've always loved your rides as the all are very unique and seem to kick my ass every time:-) That is the sign of a good quality roller coaster and you as a designer are very talented so keep it up bro. With the forces monitor ( in upper left corner of screen) I like seeing what forces are exerted throughout the course of the ride. All the forces where in the green withe occasional yellow but with a ride of this magnitude that's to be expected. The only thing I noticed on the ride was the on the barrel roll after the first loop was a split second -3.7 in the red. I'm assuming it wanted to 'throw' me out of my seat but thanks to the solid padded restraints all was good. Overall you have one bad-ass ride here also where are the pathways to all the other attractions in the park? OR is this a park in a fores natural setting? Just curious and BTW I don't envy the guy who has to mow the lawn LOL. Awesome ride and park dude.
WOW!!! This coaster really takes the B&M wing coaster concept, and pushes it to its absolute limit. The launch is good, the forces are intense, there are great airtime hills, and the inversions have a lot of whip to them. Now with a lot of wing coasters, the laterals on the inversions end up being too strong and unrealistic. While you do have strong whip and intense laterals, they don't break the laws of physics. There are a few spots that could have been de-pumped more, but the ride is still pretty smooth. And also the ride looks beautiful. I wondered why this coaster was so good, and I saw the user name. DerMuffinMaker. Of course the guy who built the best Intamin woodie and the best Mack mega coaster made the best wing coaster as well! The ride isn't perfect, but it is still very solid.
