This is my latest creation, and definatly the most perfect steel ride I've done to date. Red Barchetta is an exciting Vekoma Motorbike coaster. Built using a traditional lift hill for reliability, Red Barchetta is a 132ft high, 3600ft long, 56mph blast through the woods. You'll encounter airtime, and wicked helices along the twisted layout. I've tried to make this ride as realistic as possible, including the environment, so this ride has realistic queues in addition to the ride itself.
Wind-
In my hair-
Shifting and drifting-
Mechanical music-
Adrenalin surge...
Well-weathered leather,
Hot metal and oil,
The scented country air.
Sunlight on chrome,
The blur of the landscape,
Every nerve aware.
WOW this was very good my man, what a ride. You have put a lot of time in this ride! all of the supports are very well done, the lift stairs are great! and the speed of this ride blows me away. GOOD JOB!!!!!
T- There were quite a few issues here. The transitions seemed a bit snappy/too sudden. There were also problems with your supports. I know what you were trying to pull off with it but it didn't quite work out. The supports looked like they would snap right off. I am refering to the turn's support work.
A- Ok...I'll have to say this was pretty good. I liked the first drop but the sudden jerkiness kinda killed it. Good floater (if you can float in motorbikes) air.
O- Never seen a Vekoma Bike coaster with a lift, so that get's some originality cookies here, along with the first drop. The rest seemed a bit like a traditional motorbike.
And, a good example of how -1g would feel on a motorbike would be laying on your back. Not uncomfortable at all -- But then again, I've never ridden a motorbike so I'm not sure how comfortable the restraints are. The airtime on this seems fine to me though.
Really your lower back can take force a lot better than your shoulders. Think about the launch on a Rocket Coaster (most force on lower back) versus force on your shoulders (Strong airtime on a tower ride, hanging upside down on a Top Spin). Which is more comfortable?
Excellent track work as the lead-ins are basically flawless. One thing I would like to address is the airtime. While I am all for it, remember the restraints are across your back and that "slapping airtime" will send that brace into your lower-mid spine which is a much different feeling than across your hips or across your shoulders. A clever design with adrenaline to spare, but as far as original it was ok, but it honestly felt more like a typical B&M with the roughness displayed. Don't get me wrong it was a good design man -- it was a good design.
meh, the adrenaline was nowhere to be found here. I didn't like, the turns felt as if they were too suden, would prolly send someone flying out if they weren't restrained in and with that said they'd probably get a leg cramp or bruise on the leg from the restraints. technically, well, the turns were too suddne in my opinion. above average technical wise. way below average adrenaline wise, boring, felt slow, nothing exciting, it'd be nice had you like some headchopper in there by simulating a freeway overpass, I mean you took the time to make a catwalk where the only people scared would be the pedestrains and not the riders. original wise, average, nothing new, nothing excitingly combined to make it stand out in my opinion, what else can I say, it's basic.
T: meh. i've seen better from you. this ride although was fun and pumpless looked like something Togo would make. it had the same rigid, bumpy, painful feeling to it. it needs to flow better. you really have to work on transitions here because like togo's rides, they're harsh. again, nopt terrible, but certainly not perfect.
Adren: it seemed to slow down a bit during a few spots but overall good here. not really special but above average. you may want to work on making some of the hills lower to increase the sense of speed and airtime.
O: nothing special here either. i havent seen one of these (that was good) that had a lift so it was above average and it had some qualities that i liked, but not amazing.
overall: it reminded me of the feeling you get when riding a Togo or an Arrow ride. you really have to work on the smoothness and transitions. you sem to be doing very well with elementary but just work on making your rides smooth. your rides are getting better, but i didnt like this one as much as others. and nice job on the stairs!!
T: Good, but there were some transitions that seemed a bit too fast, and the entrances to some turns were somewhat heavy. This actually factors into the A positively, but here it just feels almost too harsh. Or perhaps not, I really don't know. The supports are nice, the fan structures are very nice.
A: Well, it's a motorbike track, and motorbike tracks just aren't that fun. Lots of helices and not much else. I do like the intensity of this one over others because it does whip you around at a better pace than others I've seen. But, I think a launch would've better benefitted this track, as it also goes more accordingly with the motorbike feel. The air hill was a nice element to break up and separated the helices, though.
O: Nothing really new here, just a lot of helices. Again, would've liked this with some more innovation, something new. The layout is nice and compact, very realistic, which is very nice.
T: I don't really have anything to comment on in this section as trackwork and supports are very decent. The only thing I want to comment on is the quickness of some of the transitions. A couple of them seemed a bit too quick.
A: This track has a nice flow to it. It has some nice spots of airtime and some nice positive g's in the helix. My originality comment can be tied into this one as well.
O: This is a hard one for me to rate. On one hand, not many good motorbike coasters get built but I think the layout is lacking something special. It just felt a little bland.
Mmmmmmm. How safe are the restraints on a ride like this! My neck hurts!
BT: I felt the transitions were too abrupt. It was too much like being on a wooden coaster than a swervy, dippin' and divin' daredevil motor machine. The custom objects were done very well.
Adrenaline: It's a screamer! It just needs a bit more full throttle! LOL
When's La Villa Strangiato the ride coming out? I think Rush is pretty fitting for a coaster title as well.
T: How long did you spend on the lift? That's a hell of a lot of nodes to place and I even checked the editor to see if you have any undercarraige collisions and it was perfect. The que line and supports were also nice. The only deduction is saw in your tech score was that some of your heartlined transitions were a bit jerky. If you watch the coaster in fly mode you can see the train really snap into the turn which would be uncomfotable for the rider IMO. I was not able to do better myself with the motorbike, so the deduction was minor.
A: I have been waiting for someone to build a really good motorbike as I have tried many times and not been happy with the result. This was really nicely paced and the helixs and air time was fun. I did miss the launch though as part of the fun of the motorbike concept is peeling out from the launch. Just my opinion though and this was a very fun ride.
O: The lift alone was pretty origonal, and this is one of the best Motorbike coasters I have seen. It aslo had some new elements for this coaster type.
Nice job and keep the Rush rides comming!
A: Buen Thrilling, Escasa Velocidad.
I loved the way this coaster felt as it went throughout it's course. It flowed so nicely, was perfectly smooth, and had such great pacing. I have nothing at all to rate down on technical except for just one small issue -- there was a little bank twitch on the banking switch between the two helices. This was minor though, and everything else technically on this ride was superb. Supports were also very impressive, and I especially liked the ones supporting the helices. Great job.
It was thrilling, too. As I mentioned, it had great pacing. There was a lot of intense airtime and some cool turns. It had the realism of a Vekoma Motorbike, but was a step up in how intense it was.
I loved the layout too, many things contributed to it's originality score. The lift hill instead of a launch, the terrain, feel of the environment, and the little extras you did out of supports. It just looks like there was an earthquake if you take a close look at the exit path [;)] (Nothing that deserves to be rated down for, of course). Very nice job here, and all around an excellent coaster.
