Track Style: OD Hopkins Looper (Using Schwarzkopf in sim)
Height: 118ft
Length: 3189ft
Inversions: 3 x Vertical Loop
Max Banking: 94 degrees
G-Forces: Vertical -- +4.0 to -1.2, Lateral -- Less than 1g throughout
Top Speed: 56mph
Speed at End: 39mph
IMPORTANT TECHNICAL NOTE: The OD Hopkins trains had a slanted front that allowed them to go through much tighter loops than the Schwarzkopf trains. On the smaller two loops the cars will go into each other very slightly (an inch or two) but this would not occur with the proper trains. It'll have to do.
Stratospheric traces of our transitory flight
Trails of condensation held
in narrow paths of white
The sun is turning black
The world is turning gray
All the stars fade from the night
The oceans drain away
Horizon to Horizon
memory written on the wind
Fading away, like an hourglass, grain by grain
Swept away like voices in a hurricane
Now I am by no means a No Limits expert, but i want to start contributing more to the site, and now is the time to start.
T - I could find only a couple of problems. Firstly, the first loop seemed a little off to me, and the first transition after it was a little bumpy as well. Other than that, this ride was beautiful technically.
A - Well, its hardly a giant thrill, but i the speed seemed good, and it flung you around enough to inject some excitement.
O - As has been said, there has never been a ride like this on the site, and it looked beautiful, although i preferred the blue to the yellow (not why i deducted). I think it was probably a little to perfect for the intended style, but thats not really a problem. I'm sorry, i'm not entirely sure how to explain this, but i just dont think it quite deserved a ten in this area.
I like the layout of this ride although I wish the track was a bit longer. Technically this is very good; I took it into the editor to study it and see how you made it. I like the placement of everything as well and it was a nice paced ride. Thanks for sharing it.
One question that's been hitting me with your recent tracks: Did you hand make these support tunnels and lift catwalks or is there some kind of tool you're using that auto-generates these support tunnels?
okay, you have some rough spots in a few places, the transition directly after the first helix is one example and a few other transitions were a bit sketchy, but overall i belive this is the best ride (best made) from you i've ever seen! the trackwork is very well done, great supports and a great ride too.
tech: like i said, great but not flawless. you're getting much better
adren: it isnt the kind of ride i'd consider thrilling although for its size and style you really made it work
orig: haven't seen any of these in a long time, but i havent seen any of the style you wanted ever lol. very origional imo with the neat stairs and stuff. great job!!
Ya know, I have heard about Hopkins Looper tracks for sometime now, and seen a picture or two -- but to this date I cannot remember ANYONE who has done one in NL, or at least anyone in the last year.
T - If you roll in fly-by view and look on the side of cars, your double loop puts those cars practically touching each other. It is very hard to see any daylight between the head rests and the front of the train behind it, but it is questionable IMO - but completely understandable in the description (Take note here, this did not affect the rating that much). A couple of odd jerks here and there that hurt this coaster's ability to really be called perfect in this area. However, a very perfectionists' view of a Hopkins Looper for sure.
A - The airtime is actually copious on this coaster and to start with I was not expecting to see much of that. One thing I appreciated was the overall pacing of this coaster. From one banking turn to another this neer really lets up. There are a couple of places where perhaps it would be a bit sudden for a junior rider, such as the final wiggle into the brakes -- but overall this just never lets up, period.
O - This track, in total, is a piece of art. The tunneling is even very clever and adds to the whole package. The themeing is pretty standard stuff though by today's standards, but does add a bit more "touch of class" to the overall appearance of the track.
Very nicely done Tyler - an excellent representation of Hopkins' designs.
