First off, actually how much are you paying coaster992001?
Technically the ride itself is excellent, although you have used tools but I've promised not to rate down for the use of tools anymore, however I would like you to know I am disappointed as parents would say. But the supports, yack, the supports are terrible, I think before you start making tomorrows track lol, you might want to brush up on your supporting skill.
Adrenaline: erhum, this actually isn't a very good ride if I'm being honest. If it wasn't for the vertical drops, this ride would have no thrill at all. Its even slow over the top of the vertical drops. Considering the rides height, it is too slow in my opinion. Really you have just covered up the fact that you aren't actually a great ride designer with tools, which is one of my main quarms with tools.
Originality: Well, apart from that double zero g roll thing, I think we've seen it all before. The layout itself was really not great. I hate the way the first drop drops to about half the height of the ride above the floor, it just looks crap IMO and, is probably part of the reason the ride is so slow at parts. Again, I think a badish design has been covered up with tools.
What can i say BUT WOW WHAT A RIDE!!!!!vary smooth and i love the track its crazy thats what makes this coaster so much fun. Well done my man. Hope to see more from you vary soon.
This was great, I loved how smooth it was. I might sound naive, but how do you get it to be so smooth (i.e. so many vertices)? Some sort of program that I'm missing?
okay, for BT, you might be asking why not a 10? i mean the track was as realistic as possible, and the lats and verts were reasonable.
but A. your supports suck. -.5
but mainly B. if i estop, i get 4 lateral g's cause the lims dont slow down train.
A:fun, and intense, i really liked it.
O:well, this isnt exactly "new", but it was a fun idea.
tip for next round: do your own damn supports or fix your support generator, and make a 3d quene if you can to boost score.
T: Good, but not great. The track is smooth and pumpless, but there are parts that seem to "slide" on the track, and some slight rotational problems in the rolls. But that's nitpicking, the real problem is those awful supports. A few hours of handplacement would've really been a better choice.
A: This was a good ride, but I was a bit disappointed. I liked the three vertical drops and the hill to the third was wickedly contorted, one of the more memorable spots on the ride, IMO. Yet, the one thing wrong is that you are just so high up, and you seem to have made a much shorter track because you don't go near the ground but twice until the end, and it just seems that you are way up there in the sky, and the feel of speed is diminished by the lack of anything around you to look at, including the white supports. Nice zeroG into the first drop, but it just didn't drop far enough, but you do make up for it on the next hill, which provided a lot of great airtime, and would be great, IRL, feeling as if you just kept rotating over further and further until you are finally vertical.
O: This ride really suffered from the elementary/tools you used on trackwork. The layout is not very good, and all of the elements are just too perfectly cut and dry. You have one element/inversion/hill, followed by a straight drop, into another element/inversion/hill, with no cut-backs, twisted track in the middle. Just feels like a bunch of elements thrown together, without a real layout, or real thought process between the linkage of elements. And those ghastly supports! Obviously there is a lot to counter these problems in the elements, but it's far from enough, in my opinion.
Bottom line: Good tech, good adrenaline, and decent originality, but this ride could've been so much better if some more care was given to it.
I've decided not to rate this. I think its great for the contest restrictions, but since I am not rating based on the contest rules I don't think it would be fair if I rated this. It does what is was intended to do very well though.
Bt : This ride was technically perfect, no pumping or bumping. Supports could have been better but they were good enough. I also dislike your brakes at the end, because when i did a emergency test the coaster did not slow down and produced some killer lateral g's. You could simply replace the transport section with some normal brakes with some lim transport section added in.
A : The ride really lacked some of this! The ride was very slow of the first couple of hills and it was a very dissapointing ride, i was expecting much more from this ride.
O : Not the best layout i saw. It was also very short, you could have made the ride much longer and more exciting.
You made it like this ride was greater than it was, very dissapointing and i hope you have better luck on your next tooled ride.
Actually TCon, if they used mag brakes Im sure they cost far less since theres no power going in or out of them and if they are stationary (like MF's first brakes) then they just sit and do their job.
Im not gonna give this ride marks because i am in the contest. and it just so happens i have been put against you which is unlucky for me. Although i dont think im as doomed as i first thought. To be honest this ride was a disappointment, i really expected it to be on of the rides you might see end up in the cool designs section or something but it didnt quite cut it. It was still a great ride, dont get me wrong, but there were a few places wasted. Firstly, i would have made some of the hills lower to give more airtime on the tops rather than crawling over each one then speeding up again. Then supports were a bit to close, and there was one transition i felt a little harsh. Thats it though. Other than this, the ride was pretty cool. It was really fun, but i didnt get why you used LIMs to slow it down either. Anyway, its obvious you are going to win our match up, as im not going to deny you are more experienced, have the better skill, and have the advantage of being able to understand elementary. But i do look forward to competing against this track, even though mine will be extremely rushed because of all the exams im doing at the moment. It was a good track tyler
Well done
He dicho.
I may try and rate this later on, and forgive me for not reading the contest rules so if this is in there I apologize in advance ... but I think the LIM useage is a waste. For a coaster of this design you are just wasting power and the such just to slow the train down with a LIM when a set of brakes would do the very same thing, for most likely half the cost. And, if I enable the e-stop ... well ... red g's galore on the final turn.
And uh ... can I get an auto-flange? Or something to make the supports look a little more realistic?
Other than that man, this ride is really a design I would jump on, even though personally I would prefer to see it a little closer to the ground a few more times to really give that rush of speed.
The most original coaster ive seen in a while. I do agree on what someone said above about airtime at the top of the crests. For how big that sucker is, airtime that high up followed by drops that size would have felt a lot better on the way down. Such a weird track though. If I were to build it, i would ruin it halfway through because ideas go through my head so fast that there wouldnt be any consistency. Good Job
well tyler, if this real ride would run with 8 cars per people, then 12 ppl would die every round. I checked your track and if you imagine those 2 seats on both sides next to the running car you'll crash into some supports. On both sides. The spaces between the supports are just big enough for a 4 seater. So the supporting should be moved on the real disign.
Personally I would have liked some air on the crests right before the dropos to carry more air than just the drop alone. it was an alright ride, best part I'd say was immelman and double zero g roll, I feel it lacked more track to provide more adrenaline time. Not that it wasn't adrenalistic as it is, but the capability to have max adrenaline time was certainly there. Don't know what lenght restrictions you had in the contest but without limits I am certain you would have had more track work.
oh i know the capacity is good considering the amount of people, but i think that a LOT of people would want to get on this thing, making for a heck of a line. it's an awesome ride! (note: i didnt take off for capacity)
tech: there was one jerk going up the third hill, but other than that this track is PERFECT technically
adren: i would have liked to see more airtime going over the second hill but it wasn't an issue.
orig: the most origional diver i've seen!
overall: i had trouble rating this because i can;t find anything wrong with it! oh.. and it has a bit of a low capacity, but the ride is AMAZING! definatly your best yet! i really had trouble finding flaws, but that jerk stood out. terrific job!!!!
