Crazy East Germany Tour '09:
Day 1: Crazy Rodelfun!
Day 2: Belantis
Day 3: Freizeitpark Plohn
Day 4: More Crazy Rodelfun!

22nd of September 2009, Day 1: Crazy Rodelfun!

Another one of my many Crazy Trips this year. Me and a friend both had a couple of days off, and there were some new rollercoasters located in Far East-Germany. So a couple days of planning later, we headed off!
The schedule was tight and we had planned a lot of alpine coasters on the way, in East Germany and on the way back! Also to do a small Coastercount boost we also planned to hit a couple Butterfly coasters. (There are about 50 butterfly coasters in the world, the biggest part of them are all located in Germany.)

I picked up my friend at a trainstation just at the German boarder, to drive about an hour to the first Alpine Coaster in Germany.

We had a nice view over the industrial area on that mountain.

Lot's of cars ready to go downwards!

And after a short trip, going back up again

It was a really fun alpine coaster with a couple a cool tunnels. On the end there is one brutal turn that is just not banked at all. It's an awesome finish when you fly on top speed trough that turn!
After a quick ride, it was on to the next alpine coaster on the schedule. This time we had about a 2 hour drive ahead of us.

We finally arrived, but it seemed a bit quiet over there...

What? They had a sign at the ticketbooth that they were closed on Monday's and Tuesdays! They didn't announce THAT on their website! Too bad, from the rumors this was a very fun alpine coaster!

Oh well, I can do this alpine any other time if I go to Fort Fun sometime. It's not that far away from eachother.
Now it was on to the next park. A small park on the way with a butterfly coaster. Also nearby there must be another rodeltrack with steel gutter. So after a 20 minute drive, we saw the signs. "Sommerrodelbahn", This way!
And not very much longer, we found the rodeltrack before we went to the small park. A nice bonus!

Yay! The track is open!

Awesome, no standard cable lift. But some kind of ski-lift which takes you to the top!

Yeah!

And another lap later, there comes my buddy going down!

Look! It even has an onride photo! That's cool!

Only a 5 minute drive up the mountain, we arrived at the small kiddy park: Freizeitpark Willingen.
The normal entry fee was actually 9 euro's. But when we arrived in the park we told the guy at the ticketstand that we only came for the Butterfly coaster.
He was so awesome to give us special tickets, so we didn't had to pay the full price. Cause paying about $13 for just a ride in a butterfly is insane.

Entrance!

Whee! Butterfly!

Some other crazy contraptions in the park, If we had more time we would have checked those out too.

Isn't queuing fun?

And just when we left the park again we saw the Rodeltrack from above on the other mountain side. Looks fun right?

Time to hit the road again! On to the final alpine coaster of the day.

About halfway on the trip we saw some more signs: "Sommerrodelbahn", This way! We checked out time schedule and we were slightly ahead. So we took a small detour to a 2nd rodeltrack!

Yeah, we found it! Enough cars for us to go down again!

These rodeltracks rule!

Now it was time for the driving up to the last track of the day. The orginally planned alpine!

Yes, it's still open and running! Quick! Let's do a lap!

Yeah! Big ass lifthill means big ass drop.

Look at the height... Love it!

That looks fun too...

Here we go!

Small drop to gain more speed

Flying through the turns, ignoring all pointless brake signs.

And to finish off with a cool small zig zag

A few moments later, my buddy arrives too

And there goes probably one of the last guests of the evening.

After this cool alpine coaster we continued our drive up to our hotel in Leipzig, which was still a 3 hour drive! Tomorrow we have something much cooler on the plannings. First 2 more alpines and then a visit to Belantis! Where also the awesome Gerstlauer airplane ride is located. (Forgot currently the product name)
I hope to upload the TR from Day 2 later on this evening.

As a bonus for you guys. Onride video from the last Alpine Coaster:

Don't bother my random screams in the start... lol

I just today, at break time, saw an onride video of an Alpine Coaster, running in the snow. I'd never seen one before and was like wow that looks cool! And now you've just posted one too, odd coinsidence.

But yeah, this looks cool, I want to go on one now. They're similar to the slide thing at Oakwood, huh?

I am not trollin', I am gouldy, you see!

they aren't extremely forceful on vertical and negative g's but the speed and the small drops makes those rides very fun Although, if there are no slow people ahead of you, you can just ride them on full speed and then those lateral forces could become high enough to require to hold on tight
