I was thinking on my free time and thought up an interesting contest for NL2. I call it 'Parallel Universes'.

Concept
Imagine yourself at your favorite themepark, your favorite ride standing tall in front of you, but in an alternate dimension. Now, this may sound hard to visualize. But lets put it like this. What if your favorite coaster was the reverse concept of the original ride. Imagine Bizarro at SFNE, but as a B&M Hyper. Or even Gwazi - But as an RMC. The concept is to completely reverse the manufacturer of the coaster, and then remake the trackwork close to the original design but with using the manufacturers proper shaping. The goal of the contest is to come as close as a recreation to the real ride, but doing so using a completely different manufacturer.

Requirements
+ Must be based off a REAL Roller Coaster.
+ Should be Canon to the Real Ride.
+ 3D Scenery is Encouraged
+ Collaboration is Allowed but no more than a a group of 3 people.
+ Must be Realistic
+ Should use proper shaping canon to manufacturer.
+ Max Height of the real coaster and the 'reverse recreation' must be the same. Or in close range.

Points Go For
+ Presenting an original concept.
+ Realism
+ Recreating scenery / canon to the real ride.
+ 3D Models are encouraged, but not required
+ Theming
+ Detail

I might host a contest for this, will give out CC points for the winner(s) if I do. What do you guys think? Would any of you be interested in this?

This sounds pretty interesting to me. I'd might participate myself if I could find the time and motivation to re-build a ride. I'm even more curious on the outcome on some rides. :)

The goal of the contest is to come as close as a recreation to the real ride, but doing so using a completely different manufacturer.

The only thing I'm a bit less interested in is that the layout has to match the real ride. It kinda takes the creativity out of the competition. I would probably turn this rule around and allow alterations of the existing layout to match it with the manufacturer in the "parallel universe". (As long the ride stays recognizable of course.)
For example: I can see a dive machine being turned into a Gerstlauer Eurofighter. But a 200ft Gerstlauer eurofighter just wouldn't match the company style. Another example would be Gwazi as RMC. I'm pretty sure RMC wouldn't follow Gwazi's orginal layout without adjusting/removing/adding elements or turns.
Coastercount: 1410 (I've seen the world and it's horrid contraptions... @.@)
- Wood: 142
- Steel: 1268

Well whatever you want to do, I like the idea, and approve of the contest!

@Dirk_Ermin Oh for sure! I thought I added that but I must have forgotten. When I said 'recreate the ride but with the shaping of the original manufacturer'. I meant it as in use elements the manufacturer would use. So it would be similar to the real ride. As you said, the original goal (I guess I explained it wrong) was to be creative with how you think the opposite manufacturer would build it.

@TTD03 Thanks!

Seems like a nice idea but I can't make Maverick an Aquatrax  I'll definitely give it a shot if this happens!
All hail your great Arrow Dynamics overlords.

Thanks for the clarification! That little bit is going to make some coasters very interesting. :)

Making Maverick into an Aquatrax would turn an Intamin into Intamin.

Before reading the topic I was imagining the contest being like this: pick any coaster at your home park or favorite park and replace it with an entirely different coaster using the exact same plot of land (for example, Euro-fighter in Lightning Run's spot or B&M looper in Vortex's spot).
I guess I could give this idea a try anyway depending on how much creative freedom I'm allowed. I may or may not have given myself an idea in the above few sentences but I will neither confirm nor deny.

I just had an Idea for this but, are we allowed to turn something from a woodie to a steel coaster?
All hail your great Arrow Dynamics overlords.

It should be the original name of the ride, mainly because it IS the same ride but in a different reality. Same goes for theming, you should try to somewhat match your scenery with the ride itself.

That doesn't sound like it would allow for as much creative freedom as I'd like.

Or you could just build you're idea, follow the general layout of a ride and get disqualified in the end. At least that's what I'm planning.

Or you could just read. Since it was the first thing I asked:

I would do this, but turning a Schwarzkopf into an Arrow seems counter productive XD(personal bias), assuming you mean favorite overall and not favorite running coaster
What are these for?

Its all about opinion, it doesn't have to be a great coaster, nor your favorite.

I would assume if woodie to steel is allowed, then steel to woodie is also allowed.
And this means that Phantom is going wooden.
