Parc Asterix would be the easiest one for me to do. It's only a "5 minutes" drive.

I'd love to go to blackpool for valhalla, thorpe park and alton appeal also.
Cradled by two loving arms that I'd die for,
One little kiss and Felina goodbye.

i'd love to do the drayton manor one (my favorite UK theme park) (if possible, regarding travel), but also the Alton towers one (again, if possible, regarding travel)

I assume you don't have a car Skyscraper?

We should have at least 2 cars if we go anywhere so we do have a little mobility!

Any of the above.

The Flamingo Land/Lightwater Valley weekend seems like an awesome idea. Take over a Premier Inn on the Saturday night haha.

Usual restrictions apply to me and t'missus: Wolves matches and work commitments - but as long as we plan more than a couple of weeks in advance, I should have no problems organizing time off if need be. And of course, we have cars to help transporting those who don't have their own!

I'm pretty much the same, any of those listed above sound good. Considering uni is almost over for me this year I have a whole lotta nothin' to do over the summer so anything would be awesome (work permitting). I would throw Europa Park into the mix but it may be quite a pain to organise haha. :)

I guess summer holiday visits would be more ideal if we went on weekdays to avoid the horrific crowds

I think its roughly ?????60-70pp to fly over to Europa Park but I've not really looked into hotels or anything - Parc Asterix is similar (although far more do-able by Ferry).

I forgot to mention Tayto Park which is like ?????20 to fly to or something stupid and will have a Gravity Group woodie at some point this year!

Oh yeah, of course, the woodie! That's the closest new wood we'll have for a while so that could work. Parc Asterix does sound good also, OzIris looks fab, Gouderix, not so much haha. :P

my dad does, but he works most of the time. i could travel by train, but it takes a long time and can sometimes be unreliable.

I'm tight on money so I'll have to agree to each park on a case by case basis, but Thorpe Park is always doable cus I have a season pass :D

Okay so the general consensus points towards addition visits to Thorpe and Alton, a trip to Drayton Manor and also Blackpool with the added option of going to Flamingo Land afterwards.

I think I'm planning on hitting up Alton Towers in June - so does anyone have any availability next month?

I'm free pretty much all of June, and any of those sounds good as a trip. Although getting Wednesdays or Saturdays off from work would need prior notice and may be tricky.

I'll likely be on holiday 27th June! :(

Here are a few propositions for you guys on top of Alton however:

July - Tayto Park visit combined with Dublin in general (initial cheapest looks to be fly and then rent a car)
August / September - Blackpool (+ Flamingo Land) (Sunday / Monday combination perhaps?)
Sometime this year - Drayton Manor / Thorpe Park

On Tayto Park I figure we see how the ride opens to work out what kind of queues to expect then maybe base our decision on whats best/easiest for everyone who wants to travel!

Also need to remember to look at this thread later when my missus is awake so she can remind when we're on holiday as well

Right then, let's see.

- Tayto Park could be a good one, need some new wood ;), depending on cost and dates obviously haha. Might be able to persuade the gf or a mate to come along too. If not, I'd still be up for it.
- Blackpool, ah, it's been a while. I really need to get back there, mainly to get some sweet, sweet coaster merch! I had no idea when I last visited that they sold coaster wheels and parts! :O Flamingo Land is meh for me, been a few times and they just seem to be getting worse but if it was a double I'd do it.
- Drayton and Thorpe are a welcome trip too, preferably not during peak season at either of 'em, I'm sure you know why haha! :-D

Hope that helps ya! :-)

Yeah, possibly going to be later in the year- September / October time to avoid the summer holiday crowds as Jammy mentioned.

I'm a bit tight on availability in June - especially weekends - just to throw an (early) date out there - 9th June which is a Tuesday?

So Alton is certainly postponed for obvious reasons and I'm definitely off on holiday at the end of this month so it might be wise to leave any official organised UK meets till after the summer holidays (ew peak times). Tayto Park may be on the cards (August has been suggested) - Gouldy's done a bit of research and it may be a bit pricey so we'll have to see how that one pans out.

Naturally if anyone is planning on a cheeky visit during the summer holidays and want some company pipe and someone might tag along.

I would be able to come along, possibly. My only issue is my transport. I'm not to far from Birmingham.. so Drayton' seems perfect for me.

but I'm pretty up for anything with enough time too plan.
