Funland is a small theme park located in a mountain valley and currently owned by Plantoris Coaster Company. It consists of four roller coasters and nine flat rides. Funland has fun for the whole family including a theater, arcade, restaurants, and a Gift Shoppe.
----COASTERS----
Whiplash - 3 inversions and a 95?? drop make this Gertstlauer a one of a kind.
Bandit - Built by GCI this bad boy never lets up. 85 feet tall reaching speeds of 52 mph, you'll never know what hit ya.
Imitator 215 - An Intimin steel coaster that mimics I305. 215 feet high and top speed of 77 mph will whip you around high speed turns and 5 rapid-fire twists.
Steel Giant - A hyper coaster by D H Morgan Manufacturing provides world class airtime, smooth turns, head choppers.
*Funland was built entirely by hand. No outside programs were used except for 3D objects. *Funland is equiped with full lighting *You may experience low frame rates while viewing Funland.
UPDATE-------------- V 1.2 - after reading the feedback I decided to make some huge changes to improve the FPS. the following changes improve performance approx. 10-12 FPS. - replanted a lot of forest reducing the number of high poly trees. - added clipping to almost all 3D objects - added LODs on some supports
AP - Placement of the rides were okay; the only thing I would've done different is maybe put the Euro-Fighter more towards the back of the park.
OQofR - The Morgan hyper coaster was hands down the best ride in the park! I liked the style of it and it really added to the skyline of the park! The Intamin and Euro-Fighter could've been better on shaping but, they weren't terrible. I also felt as if the Euro-Fighter was a bit under supported.
T - Lowest scoring category bc there was no real definitive theme of the park nor were there any themed areas. However, I really enjoyed the look of the entrance.
A - Rides were pretty easy to get to and the park itself wasn't hard to get around in. The only thing is I would've put in more fencing and gated areas... doing allows for the park to be sectioned off and makes things look a little more realistic.
UofS - The space was used really well! I also liked that this park had some terra-forming
Attraction Placement / Use of Space I think the park lacked a area for juniors, however on the whole the big rides were spread throughout the park and were accompanied well by some flat rides.I think the rides were spaced out well and you provided wide paths to accommodate guests within your park. My main complaint however was that nothing felt 'grouped'. The entire park felt like one big area and I felt that you could have split it all up so that people would spend time in an area rather than a park. This would also have helped themeing the areas much easier.I thought the skyline was pretty impressive - whilst a bit sparse on foliage in the actual park areas the lake was nice and Steel Giant really set an impressive backdrop.I thought you did a good job of spacing out the toilets / food outlets throughout the park. I think it would have been nice to have an additional restaurant at the beginning of the park overlooking the Lake
Overall Quality of Rides I thought the technical aspects of Stael Giant were spot on, the trackwork really felt like a huge Morgan hypercoaster and you had the supports and you had the tunnels to match. I think the custom trains were a nice addition despite it preventing G-readouts. On the other side of things I felt that whiplash was very drawn out in its layout and very undersupported. as CK mentioned there were elements that needs more lateral support and some parts that just needed supporting. The woodie also needed lateral supports and some additional work. Imitator 215 was well done technically speaking.Adrenaline wise all your rides possessed good adrenaline and I felt each ride delivered a different type of thrill. Again whiplash was probably the let down here as it needed to be much tighter and I felt you could have done more with the layout. Each ride stood out to me as being unique - and whilst you borrowed from other rides to get a similar experience I think you generally did enough to set them apart. Whiplash was the standout here as you went with quite an inventive layout. I'd have liked you do something a bit different with Steel Giant but otherwise pretty good in this area too.
Theme I think the park really lacked any coherant theme or in fact any specific theme on the rides. Separating rides out into groups would've helped you a lot here but everything felt as if it'd just been designed without any kind of integration in mind and thus the park suffered in this category.Despite the little theming - You did a reasonable job with all the signs and benches etc.
Accessibility I thought the park was very well laid out in terms of navigation. You had a main path that arced its way throughout the park making it easier to work out where you wanted to go and the fastest way to get there. It would have maybe been nice to have some sort of transport from each edge as it was quite far from one side of the park to another.Ride flow was a bit hit and miss - you had some rides that spaced the entrance and exits well, some that didn't and one (Maxair ride) that didn't even have an exit!I think the park overall had a nice progression throughout, it could have been improved with some little side paths - especially if yous et some of the rides a little further back from the main path and created 'areas' for all the rides.
Whiplash: Cute lighting rod. This was an interesting Eurofighter, it just felt a bit more spread out than they normally are but it wasn't anything crazy. Not much to really complain about here aside from that the MCBR was very long. Is that needed for such a short train? Also another diagonal bema for anti-shaking resistance would have helped as well on the MCBR but that's nitpicking. Supports were a little thin in areas, especially the final twisted loop thing after the MCBR and at the bottom of the first drop. You'd be surprised how much they bunch up in high G areas.
Bandit: You need more supports on this woodie, especially on the lift when it goes over the station and in the final turns. You can't just not brace the ride like that. At least for the lift over the station have a big thick set of beams or something. As far as the actual ride goes, you kept the G's fairly well under control. It appears you had 4.0Gs be your positive limit, which is something I disagree with but oh well. Real wooden rides generally don't have many positives and the older ones that do are hated for being rough. Aside from that the negatives were spot on for a GCI. The ride didn't do a whole ton that screamed GCI, but you kept true to how they usually make rides.
Imatador: This seemed kind of pointless when the Morgan hyper is right next to it but that is just me. This is one of those rides where it question if it kills people or not. You have lots of positive G's on this ride, however I think they were maybe sustained for a bit too long. I get that the transitions have zero G's (and great job on those by the way), but the constant slamming into 4 G's just seemed a bit much. The bottom of the lift needs a big footer, other than that good job on the supports. The way it snaked through the canyon was neat, and I liked the layout overall.
Giant: This is your star ride. I'm irritated I couldn't check the G's but I'll deal with it. They are probably fine anyways. The custom trains and the track look very nice and very Morgany. As far as shaping goes, I think you got the top of the drop mostly right, but I would have made the initial radius pullover larger than you did and the section before it starts dropping at a steeper angle a tad smaller. I think you overdid the supports a bit in the low turns, but otherwise they look pretty spot on. You may have a collision in the turn before the MCBR but I couldn't really check that, so make sure you take a look at that again. The ride rode well and is definitely your stand out attraction. I liked this most, and it definitely paid homage to its inspiration well and rode exactly like how it's supposed to, so great job on this one overall.
As far as the whole park goes, good ride placement, and I like the cutesy flats, especially how you placed the ferris wheel. It feels like a real park and vaguely reminds me of a Cedar Fair park. Thanks for uploading.
