NOTE: Normally I don't lock my packages, but this one I decided to do so because of TheCodeMaster's amazing custom accelerator launch script, which he graciously gave me a Beta copy of. I'd rather not accidentally release something that is not ready to be released.
Nighthawk is an Intamin Accelerator roller coaster inspired by a number of real life roller coasters, including StormRunner @ Hershey, Xcelerator @ KBF, and Nefeskesen @ Vialand.
True to Intamin Accelerator stlye, this roller coaster was never meant to be a long ride, but a short, aggressive coaster that never lets up until the final brakes. The track was created in FVD++, and I'm mostly happy with how the shaping turned out, with the exception of the twisted airtime hill. I tried to go for the type of accelerator built in the mid 2000's, with Intamin's sometimes "interesting" transitions, and I felt I acheived this quite well, especially with the overbank over the station.
In addition, in order to give the scene a little more life, after a trip to Magic Mountain and a solo ride on Ninja (nobody else in my group wanted to join me) I was inspired to build Ace, a self-dueling Arrow suspended coaster. If built in real life, it would have been the longest coaster of its type in existence, though not by a huge margin. Because I was short on time, I opted to hand build Ace's track versus using FVD, and I'm quite happy with the results.
The scenery is a mixutre of supports and DAE objects, and I really tried to get good at using the NLMAT editor with this project, which I also think shows quite well.
This really was a wonderful little park - I really enjoyed the overall feel and both the coasters felt well placed within the area you set out.
Nighthawk: Really cool ride, loved all the effects that added to the ride and the ride itself was incredibly pacey and filled with adrenaline. I thought the first twisted airtime hill felt a little lackluster however and although I know you were going for a short ride it felt like the layout deserved one last element before breaks.
ACE: Another really solid rollercoaster - doing a style of ride that is notoriously difficult in NL. I thought the ride had good swings and a fun layout after both the lifts, but whilst there was a decent attempt at dueling the two sides I felt there could've have been some better timings if nothing else - as the couple of moments you did had were really cool
