Area 51 is a large custom B&M roller coaster situated on a top secret military base. The first half is a themed dark ride style experience, and the second half is an outdoor thrill-ride.
This ride includes custom 3D textures, scenery models, and integrated audio sound effects.
The lighting is quite good and the sound triggers are well placed. The general layout of the track is not so exciting at the begining (a bit long). But after the second launch, the loopings are very enjoyable.
This ride was certainly unique! I enjoyed the dark ride section followed by the full rollercoaster - although the initial launch just felt a bit like a wasted opportunity.
The main problem with the ride probably stemmed from not using "center of heartline" when designing the coaster. You had a lot of high lateral forces when you didn't need them and some funky trackwork where the train felt like the banking was all wrong.
Overall it wasn't such a bad ride, but there are definitely technical improvements to be made.
