*This updated version of the recreation now utilises the Gerstlauer Infinity trains. Further optimisations have also been added. For a less computer intensive file, download the 'No Effects' version of the recreation from the Steam Workshop or NoLimitsCentral. Furthermore, unfortunately due to not being able to devote as much time to NoLimits projects as of late and other factors, this is the final release of this recreation, even though there are unfinished areas still present. We wanted to update this with the new trains and further optimisations to make the experience better for you. Look out for the work that Virtual Towers Online are doing to see a fully fledged recreation of The Smiler and the entirety of Alton Towers Resort when it is released sometime in the future. Thanks! - JAMMY*

PLEASE NOTE - This recreation has been created based on how The Smiler appeared when it opened on 31st May 2013 with slight alterations for optimisation. Furthermore, the main focus of this recreation is on The Smiler, not on the X-Sector area of the park therefore there will be some obvious detail missing. Also, some aspects of the recreation may not be perfectly accurate however we could not phyiscally continue with the project making many small tweaks otherwise we would never reach a release.

The ride experience itself seems spot on (from the on-ride vids I've seen... never even been across the pond, so...). I do question how much the track supports impinge on the entry and exit queues, and it would have been nice to have a queue for the flat ride, instead of being purely an ornament.
I've only seen the Smiler in POVs so here's my review:
Trackwork: Everything looks like what I've seen in the videos. Pacind: Didn't notice any major differences Scenery: Incredible job here! Especially with having Oblivion right next to it! Details: I can't imagine how many hours this took to make something this detailed. Difficulty: The track alone would rate near a 10 simply because of the inversions, but add on the entire themeing of the area and that just adds to the degree of difficulty. Great work!
Excellent updated version of this roller coaster but i can not find the no limits web sight called no limits central can you give me the web sight with www. please:(no limits central)
Overall this is a great recreation of The Smiler. It does have its issues, though. BREAKDOWN: Trackwork Accuracy: From all of the on-rides of Smiler I've seen, this is a remarkably similar track and is probably as similar as it could be to real life. Pacing Accuracy: The pacing is one of the things that was an issue. It stays close to the same pacing in the first heartline roll and lift hill, but slows down too much on notably the first two dive loops and any other half-looped based elements following. However, the lift hill speeds are spot on with real life, so props for that! Attention to Detail: The detail in this ride's scenery is great. all of the "booth" areas around the queue line were included, but were empty inside. I would have much rather prefer that the booths would appear closed rather than being big gaping rooms that are all one texture. The ride veers from real life though as a big smiley is shown in front of the drop into the heartline roll. On the topic of the heartline roll, the surrounding room should have had some sort of texture and a concrete floor instead of the pure black, however just another opinion of mine. Scenery Accuracy: All of the scenery on this coaster was great, showing that time was put into detailing the ride. Some things are slightly different from real life, but that's only because of limitations with the simulator. Textures could be a little better in some areas, but it's an overall good job on scenery.
This was an amazing recreation, and I wish you luck on future projects
