Orange Blossom Special

by Trackwalker · NoLimits Coaster · Dec 9th, 2008
Description
The Orange Blossom Special has a 160 foot lift hill and a 60 degree first drop. Top speed 66 mph. Loaded with speed, negative G and all types of hills and curves. Do you have what it takes to conquer the monstrous Orange Blossom Special? Let me know how you make out.

By the way, ALL the track was hand made with the help of the built in NL track smoother. I doubt if I could have done this coaster if NL hadn't put a track smoother in their simulator.

This is the answer to the ultimate coaster riddle of John Allen + GCI = ?. This is the perfect example of what would be the end product of the combination of the two kings of coaster design. It Had everything speed, vertical g's, lateral g's, airtime, and thrills. Good work Trackwalker.

Wow, this is another one of the design that literally blew me away. It just has the old time coasters feel. kinda like a Bill Cobb/ John Allen type. It really has the Flow and action that make really great rides. Keep them coming.

It never fails Alfred, you constantly produce these monster beasts that never let up and consistently deliver thrills and smiles. At first I thought the length might affect this ride and it would run out of gas but was I totally wrong! The length just added to the adrenaline and the fact that it never really lost pace is what makes this ride so great. Even into the final tight helix it continues to push lats and that really made this ride for me. The wide, sweeping fan-turns were spot on and really added to the ride by giving riders a short breather before diving back into the structure. IMO, this is probably one of the best rides you have produced, and for that deserves some serious top marks.

Thank you for sharing this, you have really outdone yourself on this one.

Perfect IMO! Great flow to the ride and this guy never let up. Very nice track work and I love the cute little helix at the end of the ride. John Allen is a legend among designers definitely. Thanks for the ride!

I am a John Allen and William Cobb fan. I also like Herbert Schmeck's coasters which include the Cannonball at Canobie Lake and the Shooting Star which was at Coney Island in Cincinnati, Ohio. Coney Island is still open and has the largest recirculating pool in the USA. I like those parabolic high speed negative G hills. Thanks for the comments!
P.S. If you want a real treat, play "ORANGE BLOSSOM SPECIAL" by the Stanley Brothers, while watching this coaster.

This coaster reminded of a John C. Allen/ William Cobb design in some aspects.... i think especially because the color scheme is alot like Screamin' Eagle at Six Flags St. Louis. ANyway, this was a nice coaster with a mix variation of elements from different types of woodies out there. The only thing i'm not too sure about though is having GCI trains on this type of coaster. There was nice flow, good G's and steady spped but some pumping here and there, especially at the end in the helix, but nothing too major. Support work was a little different but still good. Overall, good job.
