Description
Here it is! Steel Mill: 1910
I have for a long time wanted to do a very well themed RMC coaster, but there have always been problems with the layout or something else that made me unsatisfied with the earlier attempts on doing this. Then 3 months ago, i came up with a basic layout in Newton2 and immediately got a ton of ideas for theming around it. I then made a second layout without a MCBR, and i was even more satisfied. Then i messaged my two friends Tim Centano (WolfRaging95) and Theodore E. Young (Hyper Rush Production) and they helped me with the RMC rails and the supports, so a huge shout out to them! Overall this was a pretty solid track. The trackwork and enviroment were good and added to the ride but I felt the layout was where it really struggled for me.
Technically the trackwork was smooth and I felt the shaping felt very much like an RMC. THe wave turns could perhaps have been a little lower in my opinion but otherwise it was good. Supporting was a mixed bag - the more inverted elements were well supported with the steelwork (although there was one point where the track floated away from all the supports (the largest lateral airtime hill) however the ride lacked in sufficient lateral supports through the turns. The crossovers could've done with tidying and some additional steel crossbeams too. Scenery including car textures, 3DS and general enviroment were very good.
Adrenaline was a tough category - The ride paced relatively well and didn't have a individually dull moment. My issue was that it jsut became incredibly repetative and almost felt like the ride was one gimmick after another (points for RMC realism?
). I'd have liked to see you swap out some of the inversions for airtime hills and not had so many lateral airtime hills which killed the pace somewhat. The biggest problem section was coming into the final brakes - the lateral hill killed the finale where some good ejector would have kept the ride going until the end.
Uniqueness - The element you produced was really good - inventive and felt exactly like how RMC would do it. The enviroment surrounding the ride gave it an identity which I think was consistant throughout your creation. Only thing holding you back was that it wasn't Disney level theming.
The ride certainly felt realistic - seemed to be a similar scale to Wildfire so buildability was good. As mentioned before it fetl very much like an RMC, I think you got the style and shaping spot on, especially through then crazy inversion sequence. Dropped points for aforementioned supportwork and lack of a transfer track!
