All things considered, this ride wouldn't be such a pain in the ass to run if you didn't try to use more poly's than god when he was creating the first human. Double sided objects are an issue for optimization as it is, but when you make objects like those cables have more faces than a hydra that's been under attack for a millennia things start to turn sour. I can provide picture evidence of what I'm talking about. When it comes to objects like the cables, make them flat faced or with two perpendicular faces. People experiencing the ride aren't going to fly to the ceiling like superman or something to see your shortcut, only I will fly up to see the compact mess that is those cables if my framerate on my machine takes a turd when they load into view. The rest of the objects are pretty good aside from the double face thing I mentioned. With the beams above the station you could have made square cuts (or diamond shaped ones even) and it might have fit into the theme better than circles.
The ride was hard to judge because of the interfering framerate. From what I could tell, it was a fun ride. You gotta be more careful when making objects that could potentially have a high poly count though. One slip like that could ruin a ride, ESPECIALLY with a cut and paste object.
