Description
Want some fresh air? Why hike to the summit, when you can just ride ridge runner instead? A scenic railroad traverses a small ridge and then picks up a little speed as it meanders down a mountain. You can still hike to the top, if you take the trail out of the station. It climbs down to mirror lake, before ascending Windy Mountain, and finally making its way to pinnacle mountain, where you can still make out the ruins of the summit house, a small mountaintop hotel built in the 1880's, but destroyed in a fire only thirty years later. And if all you want is a leisurely stroll, then just walk over to the observation platform overlooking the lake in the valley below.
-Terrain coaster, with heavy emphasis on scenery, and is designed to interact heavily with it. -If you have seen my previous tracks, you get the idea of what my terrain coasters are generally about, though I have to say that with NL2, the layout is far more extensive. This was inspired by many of my hikes in New England, out west, and other places as well. -There are 10+ instances of air in both the front and the back. -Though the layout is basically a double out and back, there are moments where it feels more like a twister. -Probably at some point I will add some new coasters to this park, but as of now, there is nothing.
This is my first ever track on NL2. I know it has some issues. I just started learning the program, and I expected it to be the same as NL, which I am also rusty on. I had a lot of issues with the terrain, which I hope to figure out better at some point, as well as a few other issues with building a track.

Yes, that lift hill was very frustrating. I did my best to try to fix it, but I couldn't figure out why it was not straight. I tried zeroing the banking nodes and such, but for some reason nothing really worked. I had a much easier time with no limits 1, and NL2 seems to be a lot more complex and more difficult to navigate. I guess I will get used to it sooner or later.
It's a good effort - there's a bunch of technical improvements to be made which really drag this down as an overall score but I think you can work on this to get better quite easily.
Technical:
Twisted lift hill - make sure you set the banking to be 0 at the start of the lift and lock the rotation so it stays that way. Supports are really difficult on wooden coaster - especially of this size but you should definitely look at some real life examples to get closer to something suitable. Final brake was too short - the train overshoots so if the first train hasn't left the station there is a crash Some odd trackwork and banking - it looked like the track didn't do what you wanted to do - take some time to refine your ride
Adrenaline: I thought this was decent enough - quite a slow start then felt very full on - good rides tend to mix the intensity to give a better overall experience.
Originality: Thought the ride was high on originality - big swooping coaster on the side of the hill.
Technique 2.5
Adrenaline 6
Originality 7
Average 5.17
