If you try paint, you'll never get it to look good, due to the fact that car textures need to be made on a transparent base, not a white base. Go download GIMP (it's free) here: http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/

Just download and install the runtime environment, then d/l and install the gimp from his installer. Easy.
