I have been working on a wonderful recreation of the Vekoma Giant Boomerang now for quite a while. Trying to deliver a quality re-creation with lots of detail and such. Here are a few screen shots of whats completed.

Tower 1 has neared completion.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Image Insert:

All 3D Supports for the square shaped beams they ARE low poly and you will get good FPS on this ride.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Testing on tower 1 has come and gone. The trains used were face to face trains to see if this increased the excitement. The released version will feature the Two Seat Inverted trains but in this test session I was having fun. lol
--------------------------------------------------------------------

If there is any details you want to see even if its senery let me know as I can do them. This is a coaster I want to have '10' all the way across the ratings!

I think they go 1/4 through the bottom of the loop and not up the tower, but to the base of it.

The legs of the tower have been extended on accident so this is going be a little different. I'm not that great at 3Ds and realize the beams are a like bit bigger then the normal size but I'm working on that not. The track work has been finished.

Time For a Short long over-due update on progress... I Decide just to do my own model of the Giant Boomerang and not exactly re-create Deja Vu' it will be the same in most aspects.

Much Progress has been made on the entire ride. As you can See just from the screenshots before and now.

I know the supports may look "off" in the screenshot, its because of the angle. But the shaping for the cobra took a while its done!

Second Tower construction has begun ans it will take along while before it looks as good as tower one.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Progress Overall
Trackwork - 100%
Supports - 80 %
Senery - 50%

Much, Much more details such as the pulley system, ladders, catwalks and staton which will all be modeled 3D's I expect a release in late December, Early January.

I would be concerned about the amount of pumping this is going to have in the long run. For some reason, I just have a feeling that your trackwork is not really 100% completed and there is still room for smoothing, especially based on the pictures you have posted. The angles look a little rough, not to mention the transitioning G-issues are going to be self-evident.

I guess, we will see once this is submitted ... I stand ready to ride and rate -- and of course, if you need a tester I am more than willing as well (tconwell@knology.net).

Many things still need to be done so a release date for now will stand at January 1st, 2005. Things that need to be completed are as follows.

Modeling and Creation on the Station.
Queue, Signs and Gates of course.
Along with a riding env.

There has been more work done since the last update and the ride is starting to take a little shape.

Rides testing has begun with inspections of all track work being in consideration.

Just another shot...

Tell me as far as appearance what you think and if you ANY thing you'd like to see this ride have that it doesnt already or that it doesnt on the 'actual' ride itself.

Are you still just making it your own version of a giant boomerang or are you going back to doing a recreation?

It will be own version. In the sense that it will differ in speed but thats pretty much it. The station will be original and so will the park built around it.

No offense, but I would of tested it before the supports, cause if the trackwork isnt great, then the whole coaster may be messed.

it was tesing on the objects, and poly tests, not the track testing.
That begun before the first beam was in place.
