There is actually, a way to fix that. Quite simple, really. Just make the track leading to the lift hill or launch track, longer on one side, making an offset, just long enough for the train to travel out ahead of the other.

Well, I'm not going to try and force you to do anything, but in my opinion, I prefer the steep drop. Gives me more options, if you know what I mean. But hey, it's only my opinion.
