Re: Zumanjaro Nearly Complete at Six Flags Great Adventure

Yea I think it's probably the same speed, but the force getting you to that speed, is what makes the difference.

PT descends at 50 mph max with LL: DoD free-falling to 85 mph. But you're right in that the key is a difference in force initiating the descents.

Re: Zumanjaro Nearly Complete at Six Flags Great Adventure

Power Tower is better than freefall...for about the first .5 seconds of the drop. Then it's a controlled descent, greater than 0G, until the pullout. If they kept the sudden start to the drop and were able to maintain the -1G or -.5G or whatever it is until the bottom, those large S&S towers wo...

Re: Zumanjaro Nearly Complete at Six Flags Great Adventure

just wait... top thrill dragster will be next for this I sure hope not. This concept really makes for an eye sore and would ruin the photogenic beauty of TTD. They do o.O? Power Tower doesn't really count since it is a controlled freefall and launch by air. It's better than a free fall. You're yank...

Agreed. Current tower = beautiful. Zumanjaro addition = more of an eye sore. And if orange drop columns don't look great on this, I'm not really sure how other rides (e.g. Goliath @ SFMM) managed to pull of an aesthetic appeal by combining the turquoise with orange.

Could "Banshee" be the name of this new coaster? At least it doesn't start with the letter M, if you know what I mean (this was also the original name for the Mantis coaster). Anyway... Posted on the Cedar Point blog seemed to be some kind of "code" which appeared as: @!!$!(*%% In turn, a comment wa...

Continuous roll...

Hope this is in the appropriate section. Anyway, question - what's "continuous roll" used for? What exactly does it do? Does it smooth the heartline? Does it smooth transitions? Or something else? I never really knew for sure, and am now really wanting to know. Any answers/explanations are appreciat...

Dear God, B&M really decided to go big with this one. As if Behemoth wasn't large enough. This should take a spot in my top 10 to-ride list.

Wondering where Tango was in that list... Unless it's the same exact thing as "Equinox". That ride served a pretty startling experience. Anyone ever rode it? What made it so "scary" to me is being fastened to a giant arm that lifts you up to 70 feet in the air, then experiencing harsh negative g-for...

Probably the same as OP. X2, basing opinion of when I rode the original, X. Its initial drop is one of THE BEST 2 I've ever experienced (the other one being Griffon). Offers quite a perspective compared to any other coaster experience I've had. And also what the OP said - it's amusingly disorienting...

I'm one venturing to say Mean Streak. I hear SO MUCH negativity about that ride. Come on, really? It's not THAT bad. And it doesn't rattle you around to the point of breaking your bones, folks. Idk, I guess I'm kinda biasing this opinion by the aesthetic impression this coaster seems to give me. See...

What not to do on a water slide - thrust yourself down the slide so fast to where you'll bank so much to the side and fly out over the brim. Not really though, it's probably virtually impossible for that to happen, realistically speaking.

Probably Alpengeist @ Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Largest inverted coaster ever. Massive inversions. Woohoo. Doesn't give THAT much of a kick. It's alright though.
