I know on Tatsu only the second and third cars actually have chain dogs. The end of the lift is placed so when those two cars get to the top, the weight of the cars pulls the rest of the train over. I can just see someone seriously injuring their back doing this. Most of the people in that video were twisting with their backs. That has to get painful after a while.

I'm a ride op at Magic Mountain and we don't do a visual check in the same way they do. After we secure the train, we do a visual scan while counting to five in our heads. After that we can give the all clear and dispatch the train.

I got hired as a ride operator at SFMM this year. Still waiting to be scheduled for training though. You would think a park would want to pay their ride ops better, they have a lot of responsibility.
