Poop, I'm not going to make the deadline. Too many other things got in the way. Not even close to finishing. Oh well.

BGW and KD partnership

This was just announced today.

http://www.visitrichmondva.com/things-to-do/vathrills/

Basically it amounts to discounted ticket packages to BGW, KD, and WCUSA can now be purchased.

Not so good for those of us with passes, but for you guys coming from out of state it may be a way to save you money.

Re: Unnamed Shuttle, looking for support help.

This is actually only one half of the "coaster". The other half is an identical shuttle with the train launching backwards at the same time. It's positioned forward and to the side so the riders can the see the other train. The backwards train launches under the corkscrew of the forward tr...

Unnamed Shuttle, looking for support help.

I usually work with wooden coasters, and let Wood Magic support me up. Consequently my steel skills are lacking, particularly the area of supports, so I'm building a series of shuttles to have some small footprint coasters I can drop into parks and get a feel for building supports. I've never create...

Re: Busch Gardens Williamsburg 4/25! (Trip Report Added!)

I think the weather played a big part in why I didn't enjoy Nessie as much as I could have, like I mentioned I hope to return later this year and form a second opinion! Yeah, from what you said that's what it sounded like. Not only being stuck in the rain, but it sounds like the water was slowing i...

Hey, again!

Not new here, but it's been a long time since I stopped in, so I thought I would reintroduce myself. Took a very long break from NL2, but I'm back trying to improve my building and my scripting. Got married at BGW April 4th standing under the loops of Loch Ness Monster. Slowly turning her into a coa...

Re: Busch Gardens Williamsburg 4/25! (Trip Report Added!)

Glad you enjoyed the park, it's my favorite park, and even though I just moved to NC still consider it my 'home' park since it's still the closest to me. Your opinions of the rides match mine almost exactly, except Tempesto (I haven't gotten to ride it yet) and Loch Ness. Go ride Anaconda at King's ...

Re: Trouble with Switch Tracks and Straightness

Okay, I edited the file: http://ook-ook.net/circle.nl2park The only vertices I changed were to extend the straights before and after the switches. Between the switches I added stations (and made the rest of the track a transfer) so that you could ride around it and see, but I didn't touch any of the...

Re: Trouble with Switch Tracks and Straightness

I suppose that's part of the question then; WHY can't I get that first vertex to align exactly? Is this how it's supposed to behave, or is it a glitch? If the right station is at X=0, and the switch track is set to X=0 (in this case), why on earth is that first vertex snapping to .22 or whatever wh...

Re: Trouble with Switch Tracks and Straightness

You aren't going to get that first vertex to align exactly. Add another vertex between the first vertex and the stricted vertex. Get the pair of first vertices close to the same spot. Bottom line, you aren't going to get a perfect mirror, but you can get that first vertex less than .1 off in 2 of th...

Re: Trouble with Switch Tracks and Straightness

you cant strict the first one from the switch. the first vertices before and after the switch should make itself straight and you cant change it, or modify it in any way. Don't use the first vertex after the switch. You can set the position of those absolutely, and you can lock them. You can't stri...

Re: Trouble with Switch Tracks and Straightness

Are you locking key vertices? Double click the vertex to open the Vertex Panel for that vertex and manually enter the values. Manually set a strict endpoint vertex at both ends of the "straight side" and check the "Locked" box for each. Next manually set a strict endpoint vertex ...

Re: Busch Gardens Williamsburg's 2015 Coaster Plans Leaked

Maybe if they had two tracks side-by-side (one a mirror of the other) and they raced them it wouldn't be so bad capacity wise? I still honestly doubt the authenticity of this since I don't recall the park ever having leaks. Plans are posted here, http://bgwfans.com/2014/busch-gardens-williamsburgs-...

Re: Busch Gardens Williamsburg's 2015 Coaster Plans Leaked

Well.... I certainly wasn't expecting that. That seems more in line with something that KD would put in, and I would be happy if it showed up at KD. It just doesn't seem to fit at BG, to me.

Re: I am riding a Togo jet coaster on Friday!

cool5, Shockwave is a piece of garbage, and someone's restraints opened up once going up the lifthill. That DID happen on Shockwave actually. The restraints did not lock and a girl climbed out on the catwalk walk as it was going up the hill. She didn't die and wasn't hurt, but her restraint came op...

Kings Dominion Trip Report 04-14-2014

Okay, I started my coaster season today with a visit to my "home park", Kings Dominion. I'll apologize for the lack of good ride shots. I'm not a photographer and don't really enjoy taking pictures, and my ADD doesn't allow me to try and find the good angles when there are so many shiny co...
