Re: SFMM 2019 - West Coast Racers: Premier Quadruple Launch

I was just at the park a couple days ago and I'd estimate they're about two to three weeks out from testing. All the framing is up in the station, but they still need to finish the walls and roof. Once that's done, they should be ready to put a train on the track and start running it. It will be ope...

Re: SFGAdv 2020 - New Roller Coaster???

In that case, not saying it's a T-rex then but doesn't SFGADV seem like a big park for a raptor? GRANTED, I would have said the same about Joker, and the same about Tempesto and Tigris, so I don't even know anymore. What's the capacity like on those? I supposed a dueler would double it. Based on my...

Re: SFGAdv 2020 - New Roller Coaster???

I heard through the grapevine that Six Flags has ordered two Raptors for 2020, and I highly suspect this is one of them. I doubt it will be a standard model and think there's the possibly it could be dueling, but we'll have to wait until next Thursday to know for sure. I am very certain, however, th...

Re: SFMM 2019 - West Coast Racers: Premier Quadruple Launch

According to the latest I've heard, the current estimate is early October for WCR's opening. The project has been hit with delay after delay (some were SFMM's fault, some were Premier's, and some were due to other factors), but over 50% of the ride's components are in place and the remainder should ...

Re: SeaWorld San Diego 2020 - Mako: B&M Dive Coaster

This is looking very similar to Valkyria in a lot of ways, which is not a bad thing at all. While not likely to be among B&M's best creations, it should still be a very good ride and well worth returning to SWSD to check out.

Re: What is Cedar Point adding in 2020?

I'm still thinking it will be a major expansion that will include a coaster, but the coaster itself will not be spectacular on its own. A modern wood coaster (most likely GCI given Cedar Fair's history) seems like the most probable in this case as it is the most glaring omission from the park's coas...

Add one more to the "I forget" camp. Got about 3/4 of the way done with it, then got busy with holiday stuff and completely missed the deadline. Would have been nice to have a one week reminder, but oh well.

Re: A weird fun fact about Batman: The Ride Clones!

That's a super recent change, as the inversions used to be listed as corkscrews and still were as of a couple months ago. I wouldn't be surprised to see other B&Ms of similar vintage get their elements reclassified in the near future, as B&M's corkscrews tend to have different shaping than t...

Re: Universal Buys 475 Acres Of Land In Orlando.

I heard from a pretty reliable source about a month ago that there won't be any Wizarding World content in the third park. Not sure what led to the decision (or whether it was Universal's or Rowling's), but with two full lands dedicated to the IP I think that's enough. Supposedly the new park will f...

Re: Adventureland 2019 - Phoenix: Maurer Spinning Coaster

This came out of nowhere! It's not a huge ride, but I've been on the fence about whether or not to add Adventureland to my Missouri trip next summer and this may have bumped the park squarely to the yes side (even if its a stock model). I just hope Adventureland gets one that spins decently...the ol...

Re: Busch Gardens Williamsburg 2020

I feel like we???re seeing the size and quality of this ride decrease... Size is by no means an indicator of quality. My guess is that we're looking at a ride fairly similar to what Parc Asterix announced at IAAPA last month. It's not a huge ride (though not small either), but it looks like a reall...

Re: SFDK 2019 - BATMAN: The Ride: S&S 4D Free Spin

I wouldn't worry too much about this. Free spins only take a few months to build, so as long as the park starts construction in January I'd still say the chances of a Memorial Day opening are quite good. Unlike last year's addition, this is a stock model that has been proven at numerous other parks,...

I started playing around with the template last night, and if I can get something decent done by the deadline I'm in. Not sure if I'll have time since December is going to be really busy for me, but hopefully I'll come up with something.

Judging from construction, it's probably going to be close. However, given how strongly the park wants it open in June I'd say it's more likely than not.

Re: Moreys Piers building Runaway Tram in 2019 (Family Coast

I don't get the dislike for this ride...it looks like a decent junior coaster that will do a good job of replacing the Flitzer. Yes, it's perhaps a little tamer than Flitzer was, but still a nearly perfect fit for the park. That said, I'll be extremely disappointed if "watch the tram car please...

Re: Kentucky Kingdom 2019 - Kentucky Flyer: GG Family Wooden

Some Gravitykraft rides absolutely nail it with their trains. This one, unfortunately, not so much. However, it shouldn't affect the experience of what will be a very solid junior woodie and an excellent fit for the park.

Re: Carowinds 2019 - Copperhead Strike: Mack Double Launch

Of what's been announced for 2019 so far, I'd say this looks like the best new coaster. That said, I'm not generally quite as impressed with Mack as some are, so rather than rush out to Carowinds next year to try this I'll just wait until I have reason to visit North Carolina again for a visit (give...

Re: SFMM 2019 - West Coast Racers: Premier Quadruple Launch

While not a top tier coaster, this ride still looks pretty good, and it fits in as an "all audiences" coaster at SFMM. My main concern is marketability, as this coaster doesn't bring anything new to the park since it essentially combines the best elements of Full Throttle and Twisted Colos...

Re: SFGAM 2019 - Maxx Force: S&S Launch

Honestly, I don't think this one looks that great. Yes, the launch will be awesome, but the rest of the ride doesn't do much for me. Perhaps I'll wind up being surprised once I get a chance to try it, but I'm usually not a big fan of coasters that are all about inversions.

Re: SFMM 2019 - New Coaster/Cyclone Bay retheme

^Not with all the problems they've had with this year's single rail rides and their new train design. If anything, I wouldn't be surprised to see the T-Rex get pushed back a year. In any case, I heard that RMC has no custom projects in the US this year, which means other than Raptors we won't be see...

Re: SFMM 2019 - New Coaster/Cyclone Bay retheme

I can't say how Insane is run, but on Green Lantern the employees will arrange riders in order to create a more balanced ride and minimize the chance of a car coming in at too much of an angle for the realignment system to work. Additionally, the ride has different shields from the other ZacSpins an...

Re: SFMM 2019 - New Coaster/Cyclone Bay retheme

Is there really speculation for RMC?? gouldy was being gouldy. Re: SFMM 2019 - New Coaster/Cyclone Bay retheme

I know there's been some speculation for it, but I'm really not feeling RMC here. If not Mack, my guess is actually one of the new generation Vekomas, as the teasers sound a lot more like a dual-launch LSM coaster with several inversions than an air launch coaster without any. I wouldn't mind being ...

Re: SFA - Apocalypse to close on Sept 8th

Based on my rides on Apocalypse in April, no loss here. Truthfully, I found the park's SLC to be a superior ride.
