Thorpe Park today confirmed their 2018 season starts on Friday 23rd March, so I'd expect Saturday to be VERY busy when we're there. That being said, we've got something new to look forward to in the form of a rethemed X!

The one on the left that curves around and meets the preshow building at the bottom is the Fastrack queue. The right hand one is the main queue, and the middle one that leads into the middle of the site is a vehicle access road, that may yet be public access for ride viewing.

It's not future problems I'm concerned about. It's the fact that the foundation work mess up last year pushed them back by at least a couple of weeks. Several sources are stating that Icon won't be open till about April.

I'm going to start booking accommodation/transport at the end of January once payday rolls round. So Seth, Meta and I are staying on site at Alton Towers, and most likely in a hotel for Thorpe Park and Chessington. I won't be joining for Blackpool purely because Icon won't be open for this trip.

It's probably worth mentioning here as it has been in the FB chat we're using to organise the event, it seems we may be pushing back this meetup by a week, so we can get Thorpe Park's opening weekend in as well. The safety bars are present in the full build, they're currently a separate model to the actual gondola as they have their own animation within the entire sequence, so they're not visible on the gondola model

Erm, the motorcycle trains are either there for a theme, or just temporary until I can decide about custom trains or not. But custom trains are a BIG struggle for me
