Tyler... the station building must be completely within the "x" area. this means that the default NL brick building station that is created in the simulator must be contained.

ish and Buster... the terrain can be raised up as much as you want in order to accomidate for tunnels. however, the terrain needs to stay mostly flat, aside from the tunnels/trenches.

You people are suppose to be competing against each other, not helping each other[lol]
Lets see some exchanging of harsh questionable words and frases such as, "your ass is grass Buster!"[lol]

Wait...what? How would you make non-handmade steel supports? Some sort of tool? That's kinda sad...[:p]

I don't know about that, Tyler... your last coaster had several support beams that crashed into each other. You might want to go to the editor and and fix that this time.

It's sad because steel supports aren't something that are hard to do well. Sure, using a tool is faster, but it's just waaaaaaaay too easy to have to use it. I'm not a fan of tools, I prefer things hand made. AHG is good, but I only use it to lower lat's, not to smooth the track. You guys can probably build a decent ride in less than a few days with the track-shaper/purgatorium/ahg/auto-flanger/auto-smoother/ahg/and now you're auto-supports. It just sucks the fun out of the game.
But I don't care what you guys are going to say in response to this. And don't pull that "It's not a game, it's a tool" crap on me.[;)]

MasterPi: Look at the supports on some of my rides and tell me those could be easily done by hand. No freakin' way.

Well, you are right when you say that building good steel supports isn't hard to do well. But allthough it would take me less effort and work to do them by hand, I like coding a special program that automates a few things (basically the copy/paste thing everybody is waiting for). After that is done I then go and handtweak all supports. While all this is a very tedious work, it doesn't suck any fun out of the sim, not for me. The added precision for me makes up the extra work that is involved.
If I ever feel like the amount of work I have to put into a ride is too much, I can still just switch back to handbuilding everything in half the time.

Buster.

Not too mention they were just horribly executed, IMO, and I said so in my rating of it with screen shots to boot ...

However, I think he redeemed himself with Magic Carpet Ride ... IMO.

man it's only a contest[lol].

I also like the supports on magic carpet ride, although I like hanbuild supports more(if they are build well).ho's your tracks going? I still have to make the 3ds and the supports, track is done completely. BTW. I decided for the rita design also.

Yeah, I'd agree....Buster's supports are the best programmed auto-steel supports I've seen. Why? Because they don't look it.

Where can I find Buster's steel auto-aupport generator? Google isn't being helpful.

I don't use the AHG for smoothing either, that's not really what it does. It smooths to a very small extent but for the most part all it does is move the track around the heartline and re-bank some parts to reduce lats. If you leave a huge bump in the middle of it that bump is still gonna be there in the end. And the only reason it seems to smooth the track is because NL works a lot better with segments that are close to the same length.

And I agree with you man, hand built stuff can be a lot more fun. I miss the good old days of 90+ hours on just trackwork. Now you could make 10 coasters in that amount of time. Just sad.

You guys are nuts.
You LIKE spending 90+ hours on trackwork!?!? Do you ever leave your house?

On another note, I've started work on my entry at last. I'm really going for creativity. I'm going to keep all the track, and most if not all of the supports in the area allowed for the station. Oh, and I'm using the 400ft rules.

I've known people to build some of the best coasters and take nearly six months to make. Sometimes more. If you really want to make something good and dedicate yourself to doing it 90 hours goes by faster than you think.

Guess what... I'm one of them. That's why I switched to tools in the first place. Even better quality.

Buster.

I use the AHG among other things and I still spend the same amount of time I used too - months.

It just means my tracks are even BETTER than before.

same for me, it even takes me longer to make a track out of the elementary and AHG. But it's worth it because my tracks are also better if they are build with tools.

the only track affecting tools i use are buster's smoother and AHG, i classify them as the finishing touch to get rid of the small bumps that are left...

so, how do you make new elements with the elementary? And I'm not talking about the premade elements they give you.

I use the helix-swiss army knife and change some nuimbers until the element fits. Then I put it through the purgatorium if needed.
