A quick update on the tournament rules... due to complaints about not being fair, there is a possibility that we will be using a different system for this round of the contest, and take the 16 highest rated tracks and set up the brackets from there. If you like this experimental idea, or if you want to keep the system as is, or if you want to go back to the old way, vote in the poll I have set up. http://www.weeweeslap.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7897
You guys are already done with layouts! Man, I haven't been able to get a good layout out of this one. It isn't constricted enough. Too much space screws me up and this one has way too much build space. Oh well, I'll do with it what I can...
One more question on the terrain thing: Where does the line between a trench and editing terrain lie. If I were to take out a trench but have it be 10 meters deep and somewhat large would that be OK, and if not what is the limit for the edit to be considered a trench?
So what, you can't take off for that. The rule was very general, and a trench or tunnel can be taken many different ways...I mean, the question of how deep, how long, how wide wasn't answered originally, and if people have already modified the terrain before more specific regulations were outlined, they shouldn't be penalized, because the rules should be more specific to begin with, and one should not have to check back to the forums constantly to make sure their track still adheres to the rules.
Hmmm, i have made my whole layout and began smoothing but i still dont like it that much, so i have begun nother layotu and im gonna pick my best one. lol
EDIT: Ive already gone back to my last track and just made it a bit more original hopefully. [:D] But im not sure if one of my elements count as an inversion or not!
The trench can be as deep as you want, but the walls have to be close to the track, and nearly vertical. You can't gradually slope down on both sides for 10m and expect that to be considered a trench. If your trench is 20m deep, it is fine as long as the sides are close to the track, and almost vertical. (75 degrees or more for depths greater than 5m, and the walls can be no more than 3 markers from the track itself. Angry Gumball, your trench looks fine.
Regarding the title of the coaster when it is posted on the exchange..... be sure that you clearly indicate in the titile that it is part of round one of this contest. Something as simple as "Track Name (Round 1)" will be fine.
I have half of a layout. Can't get anything good for the rest of it. But it is very original so far. I've used an element that I have never seen on a floorless before. I bet none of you can guess what it is.
Hmm...I've got problems....when I went into the Construction Kit to use the smoother, it modified the terrain, causing the water level to rise and some terrain to be raised along the edges of the area of the editor. Is this going to be a problem?
Hey CJD.. What exactly constitutes an inversion. If I have a cutback/highly overbanked turn witha max bank, of say, 150 degrees or more, you'd count that, right?
an inversion is defined as an element that is banked more than 135*, so yes, that is an inversion technically, most likely, those rules apply in this contest as well.
i know some wierd facts. like that the average human spends 5 years of his life at a rde light. or that 7% more americans have become obese in a span of the last 7 years.
and sfmmhomie, well actually, Silver Bullet's overbank is barely an ovebank, i think its like 109* or something like that, but i might be mistaken.
