He is saying why are some people showing their coasters to everyone, because this is a contest and if you show people your work, they will know what they need to do to make a better ride, or might steal ideas from your ride. Im just keeping mine a secret till release. All i will say is that it is a very accurate B&M hyper, and its name is Goliath. [:p]

I'm noticing a lot of posts that say "that pic isn't B&M like" or "my hills don't look like B&M hills"...

Is one of the main objectives to make a coaster that looks just like a B&M coaster, or is it just as valid to take a 4-across hyper and do things with it that B&M will probably never do, supported by supports that B&M would never build?

Will there be points off for something that isn't "B&M like" even if it adheres to all the rules? If so, I need to start over!

^I dont think its entirely nessicary to adhear to realistic guidelines though some people, like myself, like too. I find it more challenging to recreate that which is created in real life than it is to free form. Free form offers no boundaries and while that can be good, for me, isnt challenging enough.

I hope the judges see the effort put into realism for myself. I would say that a ride thats not realistic would need then excel alot in the area of originality.

Yeah, I think the best thing to do (and the main challenge) with this competition (and pretty much every other original ride I do) is to maintain realism while infusing new ideas into B&M's generally overly simplistic designs. That's my goal.

If it is POSSIBLE to build the elements you are putting on the coaster (whether or not B&M has used them yet), then adding new stuff is actually a plus in originality.

I dont get why we are getting points for 3D's, since a few people in this competition dont know how to make them at all(like me..), or make textures.

Dont worry man, CJD is a good judge and he obviously wont be swayed by some 3d's in a ride like he has said before.

Jakizle, it sure looks like your lift supports go well outside the boundries...

Supports/scenery can go anywhere, except the following exceptions:
- Support fundaments may not be placed between the blue lines, unless they are in the narrow area between the purple lines. (the purple lines represent the road's median, and are therefore open)
-All supports and scenery that are between the blue lines must be at least 20 feet (6 meters) above the ground, unless they are between the purple lines.

You guys are going totally overboard. First round remember. You should be saving you 3ds to some of the last rounds not the first. Now everyone knows your skill in 3ds and can prepare to beat you later on [;)]

My supports are allowed to go outside the boundries. Just the track has to remain inside.

I guess no one likes my cartexture and sign texture. Not bad for me though.

You won't officially get a bonus for running more trains, but I will weight coasters with 3 trains higher than those with 2 if there is a tie (even though adrenaline and originality will be the main tiebreakers). There will definitely be deductions for anyone who does not have a ride capacity of at least 1000 riders/hour, however, so 3 trains is a much safer option if your coaster is really long.

Mine runs 2 trains, with 1850 pph. I could make it run with 3 trains, but that would result in an unrealistic blocking system, and I didn't have enough speed for an MCBR that would let the train back to the station after e-stop.

Mine runs 4 trains with a little trick I made, its perfectly safe, and I just replaced the final hill with a very unique element, it provides two instances of airtime.

EDIT: How do you find out rides per hour?

Its not a dual loading station, its a little block brake trick at the top of the lift, but any who, how do you get the riders per hour? or rides per hour?

The running time of my coaster is 2 minutes, 47 seconds, and 18 miliseconds.
I have 7 rows on my train so thats 35 riders a train.
