The front page has been updated to include the list of all tracks recieved. I got 34 tracks, which is an excellent turnout. Great building, everyone! Now, let the judging begin...

There are several disqualifications in this round, but due to popular demand I will now be giving ratings to the DQ'ed coasters also. (you can thank hyyyper for that...[;)])

Those last 6 spots are going to be crazy! I can name about ten top tracks that will make it, but after that, who knows?

yeah it is going to be insane how close it will be. there are about 10 or 11 coasters that are guaranteed to get in, the rest are up for grabs.

Jakizie and Ragan, would you care to list the "top ten for-sure" coasters that you think will go to the next round?

I know it won't influence cjd AT ALL, so there's no harm in spilling the beans... plus it would be interesting to see if your lists were the same

...or were you just going by the ratings that they got in the exchange?

...and what do you all think will be the inspiration for round 2?

With El Toro and The Voyage going up, I'm thinking that a huge woodie will be at least one of the rounds, and possibly a b&m inverted based on Black Mamba.

Personally, I hope the woodie will be next. Woodies are a lot more forgiving of minor "faults" than a B&M inverted, and the entries would be more about interesting layouts than about who can build the smoothest track.

Ill be lucky to make it past the second round since its going to be over spring break which means majority of my time will be spent with my significant other.

Considering I pretty much blew her off for a day and turned in whats looking to be a mediocre entry from time constraints getting one done in 5-7 days would be impossible. Ill try, but, just bad timing. Had the week off been that week Id be ok.

Aww.. that makes me sad. I have to go the entire spring break without seeing my beloved. I guess it's good I'll be missed though.
Guess that means I've got all spring break for the next round if I make it.

Very true. We've proven that once this year.
But going from seeing each other to everyday to none for a week and a half, then for months at a time (summer) is going to be hard. I'll miss the hell outta her.

Well, to stay sort of on topic, when can we see the next round formulating?

^Hey, consider yourselves lucky... I'm all alone up here, and have been stuck that way for 5+ years now. What I wouldn't give for some companionship... [:(]

On topic, I will be doing the proper research and template preparation for Round 2 tomorrow. This round, it will all be about originality. In sharp contrast, we're going from the straight and controlled style of the B&M Hyper to a template and track style that will need complete randomness, creativity, and spontaneousness. Get ready!

-As far as the ratings go, I currently have 6 done. I decided to tackle the lower rated tracks first, since they require much more detalied explainations and therefore take extra time. Unfortunately, there have already been 3 disqualifications, so I am hoping that the trend does not continue as I move into the higher-calliper tracks. I am still planning on getting the results up and the next round underway on Saturday night. (I just got my first day back from spring break yesterday, so that's why more aren't done yet.)

^I've verified that Dragon Fly was DQ'ed, but I'll hold the others until Saturday. If you really want to know, look at the tracks.

Have I mentioned I'd like the next round to be wood?
Possibly I should state that a woody round would be cool.
