Oops, I missed the ball big time on Carolina in my original post. [lol][lol]

And here are my predictions on the actual match-ups;

Boston Bruins vs. Montreal Canadiens
Montreal.

Ottawa Senators vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
Pittsburgh.

Philadelphia Flyers vs. Washington Capitals
A tough one. But I am going to say the Capitals if they keep their momentum.

New York Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils
Rangers, only because I think Brodeur is just getting worn out by now with his age.

Nashville Predators vs. Detroit Red Wings
Detroit.

Calgary Flames vs. San Jose Sharks
San Jose. This will be a hard match-up.

Colorado Avalanche vs. Minnesota Wild
Colorado, IF Forsberg plays all the games.

Dallas Stars vs. Anaheim Ducks
Anaheim.

Tonights games;
NY Rangers
New Jersey
7:00pm ET

Ottawa
Pittsburgh
7:00pm ET

Colorado
Minnesota
9:00pm ET

Calgary
San Jose
10:00pm ET

San Jose
10:00pm ET (Game two, Calgary leads series 1-0)

So I am guessing some of you are hoping for a sweep of Ottawa tommorow. [lol]

Pens should sweep Ottawa tonight .... ah, such sweet revenge since the Senators took them out last year.

I was just checking the NHL official website Philadelphia is winning by a score of 2 to o over Montreal right now but that can change relly fast becuse Montreal has some relly good players on there hockey team this year and there young and they are relly good hockey players on the Montreal hockey team. I have never seen Montreal play hockey before but I herd that they are a relly good hockey team does anyone on this site think that Philadelphia will win the Stanly cup this year or do you think that it will go to Montreal this year? I hope that Montreal wins the Stanly cup this year for Canada this year becuse the fans in Canada are better than the hockey fans in Philadelphia so I hope that Montreal wins the Stanly cup this year in the AHL this year.

Being the die-hard Pens fan that I am (since 1984) ... I actually predict the Pens break even tonight, and then Detroit takes the cup in 6.

Honestly, the Pens are good ... but against Detroit we would have won the cup had it been Dallas. Of course, should they win I will be absolutely delighted and will pull for them all the way; but mentally as a long time fan I have prepared myself for the probability that it will not happen.

I was rooting for the Rangers, then the Flyers, and now I guess the Pens.

If they're good enough to beat my team, then they deserve to win (that's my philosophy, except for when dealing with the red sox. I hate them)

The Penguins better step their game up. This is turning out to be a pretty boring series. :/

Not a real surprise though ... however, prepare for a "white out" in Pittsburgh tonight and Sat -- it's always good to see the crowd support the home team.

I think it is a surprise that they are doing this bad. They just looked lost during half of the last game, completely unlike the last two months of hockey they have played.

considering that the youngest roster in the league is playing the oldest roster in the league, this isn't surprising at all. if these same two teams paly each other next year, pens win. this year, detroit will, unless, all 6 defensemen die right now before the game, and they have to only go out there with 12 forwards and no defense, and than their AHL defensemen come up.

ONLY way pens win series.

or, if they had a hell of a speech today. if they win tonight it will be more interesting. if they pull even in 4, than we have a series. remember, it isn't a series until the home team loses.

Yeah that was definatly the type of game I wanted to see. No chasing the puck like kiddies.

If they can keep the pace up and more important the confidence, the rest of this series should be pretty great.

You know those boys were tired when that was over!! If I were Therrien, I would have worked light today, tough drills tomorrow, and then took it easy on Sat. You got the momentum, now remain consistent and you'll have this thing notched up even.
