I think If no one asked any of their friends to rate their tracks, most rides' rates would be lower.

Correction: THERE WOULDN'T BE ANY RATES AT ALL. This site is dead, nobody rates unless a ride gets a number they don't agree with.

So you need a rate in order to get a number...

Look, I understand that my ride was nowhere near my potential...I made it in a couple hours on the last day. However, it should have been enough (no offense) to beat Coasterdave.

Regardless, I have been spending my time working on projects that I care about and am putting 100% effort into...I haven't uploaded a damn thing on this site that is anywhere even CLOSE to my best.

I wasn't getting offended, but now I'm getting there. I do realize that Jakizle is a better designer then myself????????? and with this quote ?????????it should have been enough (no offense) to beat Coasterdave????????? GUESS WHAT?! It wasn't enough!! ?????????No Offence!????????? I don't spend that much time on NL. I started the contest 5 hours before the deadline????????? Just because I ?????????beat????????? you doesn't mean I worked my butt off to do it. Nothing I did in my coaster was my best just like what you are saying????????? In other words, I sucked less! Remember????????? Potential is nothing until you do something with it.

"it is because their coaster was better than yours."

Or, it's because the judge has no clue what he's talking about. I'm gonna go with that one, as it's continually being proven true.

No you have to ask your friends to rate one of your rides, before someone decides to rate the ride, because they don't agree with the numbers one receives from his/her friends. Maybe you should read the topic before you make an idiot of yourself.

We're all aware Dcs21 is the only person who hits the exchange and gets over 15 rates per ride. At least the noobs rate when they join the site.

I knew when I wrote it that one of you was going to say that. It's very nice of you to turn this into a session of personal slander. How dare you think that simply because Jakizle is Jakizle, he could upload a half assed ride and that it would automatically be good enough to get through.

I will send you the two track files without telling you whose is whose and you will come to the same decision. It is very big headed of Jakizle to say "I made it in a couple hours on the last day. However, it should have been enough (no offense) to beat Coasterdave". In fact, that's not just big headed, that is full on hideous. How can you say this without having seen coasterdave's track? How do you think this might make coasterdave feel?

Jakizle's supports were all pre-fab for a start, versus the fully custom supports of coasterdave... if you genuinely sent it in thinking that it was enough to get through, then you seriously need to shrink the size of your head, mate. You even say that you didn't put much effort into it and it was very apparent that the designer hadn't put much effort into it, so where is the problem?

You didn't put much effort into it, you didn't get through, end of story. Perhaps some of you need to look at your own follies before you question others.

Well said. People can improve very quickly as people know. The fact that Jakizle used prefabs ain't good and the speed some people learn is very quick ( take No Limits Boy, for example).

Well done Coasterdave. Now beat someone else's ass.[:p]

Why don't we all play nice until the rides are uploaded? Okay?

No, I just know both the (lack of) quality of your ratings and comments in the past, along with the quality of the work done by various people in this round (not just Jake's) among other things I've noticed over the years. That simple.

Well instead of bitching around you could for once tell us how to improve our ratings instead of saying that we simply suck.

They're written fine. For someone to judge, I believe they should have more experience than the majority of the designers in the competition, and know what to recognize as good or bad. I think you guys miss a lot of the point or quality of rides very often, and that results in skewed ratings. I don't think the judges are trying to butcher the ratings or be unfair, it's just that they don't know enough to give a respectable ranking. Sorry.

^ No it doesn't. Dcs makes a huge point there. It's not the fact that they're running around saying "Your ride sucks and we don't like you, so you get a shitty rating," but it's them rating on what they believe and know. I am not going to pass any judgement by saying that you guys are bad raters or anything because I have not really read or have had my coasters rated by either of you, but Dcs does make a valid point in saying that experience is key.
So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

I completely agree. They write good ratings, but there is stuff that they miss. Little things that people do to give the extra touch in a ride is often overlooked...

So your saying, putting special touches into rides is a bad thing because it can give me the possible edge against others?

Note, im talking in general.
