2012 Coasterdraft - Round 8 (page 12)

^That was my thought. Keeping it at 8 rewards those who made all their picks IMO.

More rounds would be fine if we had advanced notice. I don't know about anybody else, but I had a strategy. I probably would have picked something completely different if I knew we had more rounds. It would be unfair to start a round without at least 2 rounds notice. I do have one more coaster I can pick, so I wouldn't mind one more round, but it would still be better to end it here.

also I don't think adding rounds is a good idea, because the point of grouping was to speed up the process, which is exactly what it is doing.

Phantom's Revenge (Kennywood) will be my last pick for this game (if there are no more rounds).

I'll pick Wodan Timbur Coaster at Europa Park as my final pick.

There were 6 people who wanted an extension of the draft, and 5 who wanted it to remain at eight rounds. Since there was no big majority for it, the draft will not be extended.

The next drafter might be longer though, know that I know the speed is high.

You will have until midnight on Sunday 19th to think of a park name for to place your collection of rides in. If you do not submit a name, you will be disqualified. You may pick a name by posting it in this topic.

Next week, the voting will begin.

Another thing I would like from you guys is a little feedback on the new system. What are your thoughts on it, how did you experience it and should we use the same system next year? Thanks in advance.

I liked the grouping system. The only thing that it hurts is it gives away strategy at some points obviously but I think it helps with the speed a bunch. I don't mind the old 24 hour per person system either so it really doesn't matter to me I usually keep up with it either way so consider me okay with it either way!

Scream Valley will be my park name
I haven't played with the old system before so i can't compare. From what I've seen, this year the draft did move a lot quicker so I think that this system would work better with 10 to 12 rounds.

My parkname is:

Le Parque de Trololol

My park will be called Magic Anarchy.

This new draft system was 100x better and more fun.

The park name bit seems a little corny, so, a corny name will only do.

As far as this new system goes, I think that a few extra rounds would have been alright. Personally, I think 8 rounds really makes you scrutinize your picks. But when it comes down to it, we had to come up with around 20-30 coasters total vs 8. Maybe 10 rounds would be OK for next year.

Also I think that 10 rounds would be perfect since the new draft style forces you to reveal your hand somewhat at early stages as well as the fact that it makes the fun last longer. Although I think it might be interesting to stagger the number of people per grouping starting with 2 to a group for the first round and ending with 4 people to a group for the last round since the first few rounds are the most strategic.

Ill name my park the "Company of Class" I dont know why but its all I can think of. lol

Also, I really enjoyed the system. The faster system gives you less time to think about what your next roller coaster in your park should be, which was an interesting challenge IMO.
