when u have put a texture on an object..say a box...
go to modify, modifiers list, then UVW Map (towards the bottom), experiment... to tile, change the U, V, W values...

I don't know wich program you use, but I think you just have to make a texture, export the object and after that you have to put the OBJECT AND THE TEXTURE in the objects folder.

Yes, once you go to apply the UVW Mapping, you choose what type of object, or the type of mapping coordinates that best fit your object. If it's a cube you choose, box, Spere is for sphere, shrink wrap will just wrap your object as if using a sheet of shrink wrap. Another option that might help, say if your creating a tunnel or a dome where you want the texture to be on both sides, (the front and back), you will open your material editor box and choose your texture, and directly below that you should see a check box for a "double-side" material.

Hope that helps a little

Oh and I forgot the most important part. Once you assign a mapping coordinate to your object, you'll see the X Y Z tiling options in the material editor, or the UVW mapping area (one of those places.) Theres the option for you tile the texture across your object as many times as you want. You'll have to experiment to get the desired effect.
