Last Sunday we had lovely weather and my sister(Zoe), her man paul, my mom and dad had gone up to Blackpool for my sisters' 20th birthday so I followed up on Sunday for a family day out at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

It was a really nice day. It was warm, not very windy and not too hot it was very very pleasent. We had a good full day at Blackpool and lets start from the begining.

Image
outside the south pier by the viking hotel where my family was stoping and i parked beside it for ?????????5 for the whole day.
this is the south pier where the best funfair outside the pleasure beach is. its more like an american carnival but it has some cool rides on there but didnt get on there today unfortunetly.

Image
the front of the park has changed alot. you now buy your tickets where the fish and chip shop used to be and you go through the old casino to get there. also there is now a ?????????5 entry fee if you want to go in and not go on any rides where as it used to be free

Image
new tickets are very snazzy and there 10 diffrent ones displaying alot of the things round the park

Image
the wild mouse is still one of the coolest rides in the park and yes it still breaks everyones knees if you go in pairs. but its very very good for such an old ride

Image
whats more important than a coaster that runs well? it must be SHINEY!!!!!

Image
the avalance really impresses dad

Image
thats a far more impresive view i think

Image
looks like every guy that works behind a counter in every english petrol station, oh well bannanas up guys

Image
bling should have more......ummmmmm.......bling. it needs to be chrome all over

Image
pepsi max the big one looked like this alot of the time, seriously there was hadly anyone in the park it was wicked

Image
so since its so quiet we went on somthing we hadent it a very long time, the politically correct train around the park.

Image
seriously, who ever is in a theme park that needs to thow away there honey? this bear looks very hungry

Image
you get some awsome views of other rides on this train especially if you get there just at the right time

Image
see this train ride it politically correct, i wonder what that guy with the gun is going to do?

Image
this is one for the engish fotty fans, whats wrong with this photo?

Image
see some awsome views

Image
the 2nd hill on pepsi is still very high. and its not extreamly rough yet either, but it will happen soon

Image
c'mon guys cheer up where in blackpool pleasure beach. its not like they have ever had a fatality on the pepsi max[devilish]

Image
but im pretty shure most havent survived this train journy

Image
the big dipper gets close to the tracks

Image
why are you all so freaking miserable, this is a wonderful place.

Image
i took away his cookie and now hes comeing to kill me.....HELP!!!!!!

Image
iron-bru revolution still has the most perfectally shapped loop in existance in my opinion

Image
yep its march the first and its my sisters birthday. i wonder why that gold prospector looks so happy? YAY i found a happy person in blackpool pleasure beach

Image
yep my dad is the master at grabber machines. now who else around here won a teddy from the pleasure beach?

Image
this is infusion through the big dipper station windows, nuff said really

Image
and i still thinl that the big dipper has one of the coolest paint jobs for a woodie. look how huge the cars are, 4 rows per car.

Image
everywhere you look its like a spegetti work of track

Image
the first drop on the big dipper is alot steeper thn you first think, half way down you get a good jolt of airtime

Image
me, zoe and paul half way through the big dipper ride, i just think this is an awsome on-ride photo with the rest of the park behind us

Image
its a out and back woodie and the final bunny hills are awsome. look at that ladys hair in front of my mum and dad.

Image
yay alice in wonderland, just a screwed up very old ride to put it basically.

Image
even the mad hatter is on some sort of medication.
yet another unhappy face.

Image
untill you stand under the flying machinces you carnt apreciate how far they actually swing out. not bad for a ride that 105 years old?

Image
see it is 105 years old, built in 1804

Image
why did they never name this ride, it was only named after the sponcer, but then again ice blast is a cool name. much better than when it was called playstation.

Image
these old cars get a little cramped for the older generation

Image
and away they go, all the way out wacky racers[lol]

Image
old ride now with the big dippers old trains. ots now got lap bars[:(]

Image
no the folk from along time ago didnt know how to make straight lift hills.

Image
the grand national was closed but as were all the coaster is getting a new paint job, i think rollercoaser needs its one next

Image
roller coaster first drop

Image
more little bunny hills on the very edge of the park

Image
avalanch funness, just a wicked little coaster in the middle but it needs more coaster around it, this center bit is far too quiet

Image
why do i keep taking pictures of miserable things? ohh well after this we exited the park after going round rides for 6 hours. we had done everything 2 or 3 times by now and it was time to go get some food.

Image
Image
HA... beat these awards other parks, i think the pleasure beach has one every one in its life time

Image
one final look back at the park befor heading along to the central part of blackpool only a 2 min tram ride away

Image
we go past the water park, the sand castle. a pretty good indoor water park but it still dosent come as close as spash landings

Image
its still the closed season so alot of the small shops are closed on a sunday but the big sealife center was open.

Image
time for some fun, games and grub in what is the finest arcade in the UK, coral island. themed inside and out its one giant arcade with a ghost train and a shoting ride inside.

Image
and a shot alittle closer to the front, seriously if you ever go to blackpool go in here and get some food, its really really yummy

Image
standered photo of blackpool tower, i got that in the update. if you look very closely at the underside of the top of the tower you can just see the walk of faith. a glass part of the floor to walk over. its not much but it is rather scary

we now headed down south a little more and went into louis tussauds wax works and it was really really cool. some of it was confusing though.

Image
elton jhon trys to teach paul how to play the piano, he failed

Image
you dont want to know what all 3 of us was looking at?

Image
i dont think elvis was having a good photo day, not to self, dont take extreme close up of elvis again[:D]

Image
heres a confusing one? do you think this looks like harrison ford?

Image
super failure man .... AWAY!!!!!

Image
for a vicious, man eating, blood thursty dinosaur hes pretty cute. i want a new pet now

Image
donatello wasent happy that paul got this close to E.T.

Image
look hes sorry, he just wants to hold hands with that innocent young boy

Image
sister and cats, hmmm a leathel combination

Image
3 words...... oh dear god

Image
look i found bin larden

Image
why is it that the queen mother looks like everyones nan?

Image
hmmmm...... i wonder if he can tell me who jesus is?

Image
i dont think the queen likes standing still for a long amount of time and look its more MISERABLE faces. i mean damb blackpool seems to be full of miserable people

Image
at lease my sister is happy.
this was one awsome thing about louis tussauds. in each part there was a little thing where you could dress up, super man, a jedi, roylty it was very cool to be able to join in and have some fun.

Image
do you think he knows the airspeed velocity of a unladen swallow? (its a monty python joke)

Image
AHHHHHHHH... daniel craig shot my camera

Image
forget where's waldo, lets play where' gazag

Image
freddie got a unexpected surprise

Image
pinhead gave him a shiney new rubix cube to play with

Image
photos dont so this justice at all, this scene from the excersist was truly scary. it really di look extramly relistic

Image
only to be faced with this as you came round the corner out of the room. sometimes you really did have to touch them to see if they were real or not

Image
these were my favorite scenes though, the classic horror movie sets.

Image
wow, a face only a mother would love is the fraze that comes to mind

Image
unfortunetly the french people found me down there and did what they do to all english prople.

Image
then the people from cornwall got hold of paul and he got tryed for witch craft and never made it throught the tests.

thank you very much for reading through this long trip report and expect alot more from me this year as i aim to do every majour park in the england from south to north.

happy coastering

I dislike the general trampy gyponess of Blackpool in general, not just the pleasure beach, it's the kind of place silly brummies like to go on holida.... hmmmm wait, maybe I shouldn't say that [lol]

Still, they do have some decent rides, although it is slightly spoiled by the fact that it looks like all the rides have been looked after by Worzel Gummage.

yeah thats tru gouldy
however if you want to go walk around the pleasure beach now its ?????????5 and it seems so far to have kept all the CHAVS out of the place, hopefully this will help in the summer.

blackpool is coming on alot recently though with a new shopping center and the whole front is being remade and it is really starting to clean up its act. id rather go there than some other sea side resorts thats about.

shhh they're good teeth. humbug teeth. anyway, i have a vague memory of something that could possibly have been valhalla from years ago, i have some questions about it,
1. are the boats all viking like with wooden lookingness and figureheads?
2.how long has it been in operation?
3.(this one is v v important) does it have a reverse drop bit? if not, do any other water rides that you know of (not storm-force!) have a reverse droppy bit? (possibly inside)
Cradled by two loving arms that I'd die for,
One little kiss and Felina goodbye.

1. yes there all theme'd as viking boats and have to have the excess water vacumed out of them at the end of every circuit

2. it was opened 2000 so its now nearly 9 years old

3. yes its got a reverse drop, not a intence one but if this helps heres the room order.
.go through a waterfall to be greated by a raven and a 2 headed dog
.up a long lift hill surounded by a moving tube with a talking skull at the top
.past the floating head room and then a giant eye
.through the hot steam room and the walls with a waterfall either side of you
.turned around for backward drop while looking out over blackpool
.drop to the wind room where you get a good blast of wind
.into the extramly cold ice room
.down the first drop through the water tunnel and the water room
.up the 2nd lift hill into the torcher room
.past the swinging logs and other horriable instuments of torcher
.into the electric room
.down the 2nd huge double drop into the fire room
.lots of freballs and explosions
.out into the light and finnish ride

Maybe drinking more tea would help get the brown off of your amazing teeth.

BPPB looks awesome, I'd love to go there some time. Looks a lot like Indiana Beach in how everything is stacked on top of each other.

[lol] I love this stereotype! It just makes me think, at least I'm not an American who obviously must feel pressured into looking a certain way all of the time. Gaz obviously isn't bothered that this particular photo of him shows his teeth covered in brown, otherwise he wouldn't have put it up on the site; this says something more about you than about anyone else! You're obviously fairly insecure, which is always amusing to see I grant you, but slightly gay nonetheless. I guess you would be insecure with your mullet and extremely inferior American intelligence accompanied by it's extremely misplaced "look down my nose at the lot of you" effect. [:)] You do seem like the kind of person that would live and work in Blackpool actually, maybe you should hitch a ride on over! [lol]

Hey now I don't shop at American Eagle, Hollister, or Hot Topic like MTV tells us to. I buy cheap at Kohls and Target during sales :D

Also if all I'm mentioning is teeth that obviously couldn't be that brown in real life without the aid of food I'm not being too serious lol...

awww, weak! no way! I was well hoping to get like proper slated back! and that was almost like a happy peace friends retraction of your comment [:(][lol] I was waiting to become the target of your next random uncalled-for lashing of doom (which are always hilarious to read) and then.... [r]

You know what they say about people that make non-stop fun of something [:)] Looks like somebody's jeeaalouss!

Gazag, looks like a great park, thanks for the pics! Blackpool has a really divine atmosphere. Obviously more than just an amusement park.

Here's why that didn't happen.

1. I got nothing
2. I'm busy
3. Saying "all your women are fatties" is an instant win all

A set of bad teeth are better than fatties.

I fxcking love BPB.
First ever proper meet up wasn't it, and still probably one of the funniest day's out in history.
Awesome pictures gazag, it's ironically a beautiful place, and the ?????????5 rule will certainly keep the scum out.
AND IT WAS ME WHO'S AWESOME AT GRABBY CLAW GAMES.
Shame you didnt get any pic's of the clown coaster, but nevertheless awesome report mate.

nice photos! need to get to BPB this year, didnt make it last year. Always love it though, its got a completely different atmosphere and personality to most theme parks, you dont feel like your hemmed in its grounds, yet at the same time you feel intimatly close to the structures, theres always something above or below you.
