^ Yes it does burn, I've done it before (and I poured lemon jucie in my eye it hurts worse). By the way, Gouldy, I never said anything bad about you so why critize me like that. What I mean I see more people talking like this: THIS, COASTER IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSOMMMEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And for the example of swearing: "I rode it and it rocks like love hell!!!!!"
Just to let you know I'm NOT offended by it in any way, it just annoys me a little that's all. I'm not saying that everyone should go and make sure that everything is perfect in their posts, just to put some effort and not type things like this: it s da gratest ride evers, it love me p, but i stll luved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was fun until the burning started, and I swear I could taste the lemon in my mouth after 5 minutes. I did it because of peer presure (I've always wanted to use that word on the internet). Actually my eyes are pretty imune to pain so it didn't rally hurt all that bad.

and it burns instantly, I've accidently had it squirt into my eyes while I'll was preparing lemonade, and its not fun at all. The fact that you just put it into your eyes is just mind boggling stupidity! IT's like that time I burnt bubble wrap to see if it would pop the bubbles, and the wax started dripping, and it melted onto my hand! (the good part about it melting on my hand, is that the burn actually did not hurt for the rest of the day, unlike most other burns I get)

Peer pressure, you think you're immune until it happens to you. Did the lemon juice make your eyes immune to pain? Oh and also, the eye ball itself has no nerves to feel pain. The lids do.

For me, its just a judge of what people care about.

It takes extra time (like half a second) to capitalize, spell check and the likes. Yes, that can adds up to precious seconds later but it is mostly a judge of how much effort and care people put into writing.

Gouldy, I would rather you talk like you do in real life. I know people act silly on the net but Ive come to find that alot of people act who they are on the internet. Especially in forums. The only difference I find is people are more bold and obnoxious online due to there being no real interaction with a human being. If this were all in person there wouldnt be the same conversations going on.

So it really just boils down to if you care about writing and the statement it makes about you. I like to take my time and think out what Im saying and use the best words possible. The only thing I do not do online often is use apostrophes in words like it's. It just isnt (theres another one, and another) natural for my finger to hit that button. I suppose if I took the time to teach it I could but I type almost 100WPM as it is and I really dont care to re-learn my right hand to keep up and fix that.

I can settle with where I am at.

As for the rant portion of this thread - I dont mind a few miss spelled words here and there but they have to be harder words to spell. If you use rite for write, thats pathetic. Same for if you take other simple words and destroy them either because you are lazy or speak in Internet "lingo", thats sad too.

The internet is sadly breeding the generation beneath me to write, talk and speak like they are on the net - at all times. I have heard people say LOL like, el - oh - el in real life and its quite scary. I have also heard people say others or things are "leet" and not in a joking manner. That kind of stuff just...is unsettling.

You're right about the conversation thing. If this was in person, more people would show respect to the older members. But, since its on the net, you can be anonymous and say stuff you wouldn't normally say.

And the thing about the thing with people talking and writing like they are on the net. Several people in my English class got a lot of points taken off for using "u" instead of "you" and "r" instead of "are". Maybe we are spending too much time infront of computers.

Well Real, I'm one of the people who talk on the net how they talk in real life (yes I am a very intelligent 13 year old, all I watch is educational TV none of that MTV VH1 crap).

Woodie Man it wasn't the lemon insident that made my eyes immune to pain (though that certainly helped) it's the contacts I wear, they're special. Here's a link http://orthok.com/ortho.asp. They're actually very cool cause I don't have to wear them during the day.

Yeah, I got tired of going in every 2 months to get a new prescription. With these you can pretty much go 2 years without a replacement unless you get a corneal injury like I did (not related to lemon jucie or salt).

Heh ...... then again, the sharp pain most felt around the base of their skull would most likely be from my hand smacking that area quite quickly for disrespecting the preacher (BTW Cool, I am not one for blasphame, but the line from the Exorcist applied here actually made me laugh)... anyway, the slap to the head my friends, is called an "attention getter". As far as what Real said, who cares about apostrophes ... it just bothers me that people seem to lose the ability to carry on a decent conversation, especially when they are getting one in return. I take time to ensure I am completing a legible thought when writing on here, and it would just be nice to see the favor (or favour) returned.

Oh man, I totally know what your talking about, it totally freaks me out, too! When ever I come across those people the first thing that runs into my mind is, "Nerd" and I just don't really want to be around them, that and half the time they're the kind who don't shut up, and it really gets on my nerves when people just have to keep on talking even when there is nothing to talk about. I've also heard people say lol like... "loll." It's like toll except with an "L" instead of a "T".
