i just got back from an ACE event at SFMM where there was ERT on tatsu, x, revo, and viper. it was sweet.

there was hardly anyone on the coasters and i rode tatsu 5 times in 2 hours, 4 in front car, 1 in back.

the first ride was the first train out of the station, too, and i didn't have to run toward it. it was awesome

i went on x once, viper twice, and revo once, and they had a continental breakfast set up in the restaraunt next to tatsu

it was from 8-10 am (thats when i went, it was actually from 8 am to midnight), but i have to go to a band thing later so i couldn't stay and i didn't want to because as i went on tatsu my last time, i saw the massive crowd waitng to get in the park

my dad and i laughed as we exited the park because we thought we were so much better than all the people waitng in line (were not actually stuck up people)

but on to tatsu:
INCREDIBLE

its so much better than it looks, and its so smooth even with a full load. its so quiet, too. the front seat is the best, but it goes a lot slower than the back. the pretzel loop was very forceful and it was great in the front and back, but the back was almost at the level of the helix on goliath, due to the intense G's. it was very good, although i didn't get to see how the dual loading worked (they only had one side opened, hopefully not to become another superman), so we had to wait a few minutes in the last brake run connecting to the station, which hurt my ankles.

and i never knew the second row of X was so much worse than the first. i thought i was going to throw up due to the turbulence. and i never throw up.

all in all i thought it was a very good time, even tho i didn't stay till midnight with all those odd ACE members (and there were plenty).

it was still bumpy at the top of hills and the bottom of some of them, a new paint job for where the ride goes next to the fountain and the loop, and the brakes are still there on each hill

Really? The back of the train has a seperate speed from the front? I thought the top speed of the train was acheived by both the front and back? Are the cars disconnected from each other or is it still all just one train?

^ Heh, that's what I always say to my lesser coaster experienced friends.

I think he means different speed at different times. I never really notice this on any coaster I've been on except for Loch Ness. The loop is faster in the front, atleast for me.

i dont think its a seperate speed, but for example, on viper, have you ever sat in back? you notice that you get wipped over the first drop after the chain because the front of the train has already accumulated speed and is "pulling" the back through. it is faster i guess but it might also be the same speed, except you are already traveling that speed instead of gradually increasing as the train goes down the hill. pulled, not pushed.

i hope this makes sense

lol I know how it all works I was just being a sarcastic brat.

The train as a whole goes the same speed, but, from seat to seat the acceleration through a said element differs.

Its just funny when people are like "OMG the back is so much faster" and Im like "really? I thought the ride went 65mph...??"

haha.. it's like my claim that a first drop is "longer" if yo u sit in the back... if yoyu've ever been to magic mountain and rode either of their woodies you'll get it... they practically stop the train at the top of the lift untill the front car is almost at the bottom of the first hill...

Next time Im in line for say, Millennium Force (which might be never, lol) and someone says the back goes faster Im going to respond with "Yea! I think it goes like 10mph faster than the front making it like 103!!"

Just to see the reaction.

[lol] haha!.
I always here that, like in the line for The Hulk. You hear people saying "We gotta ride in the back, its so much faster". And i feel like correcting them all the time, but then i would probly spoil the experiance for them, knowing that the back row 'doesnt' go 50 mph faster than the front [lol].
