I decided to take a break on my other intamin wooden, and built a S&S woodie. The first i newtoned up was ok, but it just wasnt very good. So i scrapped it and tried again. I ended up making possibly my most kick a$$ ride ever. Its a crazy lats/airtime machine with pacing that never lets up over its entire 4500+ length of track. The first drop is about 40 ft higher than any other part of the ride, which means lots of speed. The ride consists of 4 turnarounds. The last im thinking will be over a lake. This is what ive got. The supports are completely autosupports at this point. But custom bracing will be done.

That looks incredible! I'm not sure how you managed to put that turn right after the drop without red laterals. I'm interested to see how you pulled it off.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

Thanks!

Its got a 50 degree bank and it still has 1.2 lats until the 90* part. The third turnaround right next to it goes up to 1.3 lats.

Any more comments/suggestions/questions?

Edit- Named it Aether, the goddess of the upper air/ sky.

IMO, if you do it right, Newton is the best way to make a GG woodie. There are some issues to overcome, but the benefits greatly outweigh any potential drawbacks in my experience.

Newton is great for wooden coasters! Just use lateral force zones.

What I usually do when building a wooden coaster in Newton is when I export it to the editor I click on each segment and alternate between adding one degree of banking to a segment and subtracting one degree. This is time consuming but gives a nice touch to the ride without messing with the forces too much.

I forgot to mention, I purposely exported in 3 meter segments so I could roughen the track, and just saved an extra copy that i worked on roughing up lateraly so now it feels like the side friction wheels are running along hand carved edges. It feels almost real.

Hi, I'm new here. That looks really cool! I'm just worried about the heartlining. I'm not an expert (far from it, actually), but woodies don't have as much heartlining as steel coasters, and Newton treats it like a steel coaster. I know that CCIs and GCIs have some heartlining, but not much. I don't know about GGs though, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Actualy the heartlining is only .8 and is barely evident anywhere due to lats and the shape of my transitions.

Looks amazing.
Could easily pull it off as a GCI aswell, some of the trackwork and transitions look awfully similar to those on a GCI and would look pretty sweet with some fliers navigating the circuit, cant wait to have a go :)

Just call it your own style. I can't tell if it's a GCI or Gravity Group.

It looks S&S Power to be honest. Which is a good thing. Honestly the is more S&S so change the no. of cars per train if you want.

I mean it has double drops that are not GGish, GGs turns are different, it's more twisty, any more for me to say? Yes, the bit after the first drop and that entire area of the ride looks like Avalanche. Seriously S&S.
