When I first started playing with Newton I began building mega-lites. I love the little rides, even though I've yet to ride one =( I've seen the punch they can produce! I've been determined to design one but they never seemed to hit the spot. During the Christmas period I've had a lot of time to play around and this layout kinda just flowed out! And I think I have it finalised, it usually takes about a month to be truly happy with a layout but this took a matter of days, I'm actually combing through thoroughly to make sure I did't just get a bit too excited and missed points out. But all I know is it's definitely my next project.

Anyway I have a picture here, it's early days still, I may re-evaluate some aspects of the layout (there's a teeny pump in a hill *eye roll*). Also I doubt I'll use these colours, they don't have the right impact. I have a vague idea of theme but I'm not 100% and it'll probably need some 3ds. So yeah here's a little teaser and watch this space.

Finish it to the same standard as your flyer and it'll be a winner, I'm sure!

I see you like Muse, so does the title have something to do with Radiohead?
I'm excited to see more.

Haha! Tbh I hate Muse now, think it was just a stage, and I released that ride a good 8 years ago when I was 14! Android didn't come from Radiohead either (although I do like 'em), it came from an album I've been listening a lot to lately "The ArchAndroid" by Janelle Monae, I love the art-deco yet futuristic style she uses in the art work. Also the album cover of Sufjan Steven's "Age of Adz" and the film "Metropolis".

A few close up screens of the track. Don't wanna show the layout in it's entirerity but just showing progress with it. I quite like these colours, and I quite like the idea of working an old-school horror theme with the ride. I'll see how it pans out, just been playing around with OC and Wings3D but I'm not having much luck =(. I don't want an overload of 3ds, more on the lines of what Andre did with The Red Dragon. Works quiet over this month so I should have more time to get to grips with things!

The good old Intamin transition snap, with a small pop of air.

If you like your arse to touch the seat at all, this ride isn't for you.

Going straight into the low-lying corner is so last year.

It might be the angle, but the first pic doesn't look right. The rest looks great!

This looks really good, but I agree. Is it time for an update?

I agree with Muse. I used to like them, but I hate their new album.

This ride will become the next in my "Creatures" series, which are based on mythical, fictional and real monsters. As a follow up to The Red Dragon, this little sister ride will take it's theme from a welsh legend of the Afanc(pronounced a-van-k), or Addanc (pronounced a-than-k). A creature that dwells in a lake and preys on anyone who enters it. It is describes as being a mix between a beaver, crocodile and dwarf.

I've made progress on supporting (I over supported it an had to readjust the first half of the ride after carefully analyzing the real mega-lites), and I've also got a color I quite like. I've had to ditch a lot of ideas I had to begin with, but they were a little ambitious, and I want the ride to present in the right fashion, I really like the layout and I want to see it shine.

Anyway, onto a screen. The logo/name aren't exactly finalised yet but I wanted to show some form of progress here. This is the s-bend after the first corner.

I lost the entire ride with a computer crash last week! Luckily I still had the newton track file. But it meant starting again with just the track. It's been a little blessing in disguise though, I've rethought out the terrain and supports and I actually think it's looking better. I've almost done supporting now.

I actually don't know why you're putting lateral supports on that bump in the foreground.
Otherwise it looks like coming so great, I like a lot the natural environment around it. :)

I copied Kawasemi's support structure.

There's lateral supports on the top two supports on each hill.

Wow that really sucks that you lost all your work! I would be bummed. At least you still have the track though....

Definitely looking forward to this! I'm glad you saw a silver lining with that computer crash though...that's quite the bummer! What sort of 3Ds are you planning on including with this? Or will it be all track and nature (which I think would look fantastic, btw)?

It's going to have natural theming I think.

The ride has a logo =)

I've also finished the basic supports, currently adding some flange.
