Divide the drop into about.. 4-6 parts. Once you get to the FIRST part of the drop that is *not* vertical in any way or over vertical, AHG from there. That way, if you have a turn directly after and you want the bank to flow out from the drop, you can. Not the entire drop will be AHG'd, but the area following the over vertical section should be to create a smooth lead...

It all depends on certain things. The amount of segments you use during AHGing, the filter, the precision... it can amount to completely different results.
