Apparently this is the first photo of the plans for the new Alton Towers wooden coaster. The plans are currently available for viewing by the local residents so they can decide whether or not to pass the planning application. There is no way of verifying whether this plan is real or not, as we usually get hoaxes at times like these. However, the plans are available at Staffordshire Moorlands District Council so it would be possible to visit and look at them. If this photo is real, then the wooden coaster will feature a section close to Air's station. A contact of mine who also claims to have seen the plans mentions that the coaster uses the valley between Forbidden Valley and Ug-Land. If this is the case, and remember no-one has 100% reliable photo evidence that this is true, then the wooden coaster will stretch all the way to Ug-Land, where markings were made on the ground behind the Corkscrew during the 2002 season.
Alton Towers have also requested planning permission for the new woodie stating they want a 'Wooden rollercoster with ancillary station, maintenance and retail buildings and landscaping'
The planning permission can be found at
