I hear 99.9% of the people refer America as "she" "America, she's beautiful." "America, she's the best country to be in."
and so on and so on.
Fact is, America was not named after a woman, it was named after a guy who goes by the name of Amerigo Vespucci.
Question is, why does everyone refer to America as a she and not as a he?

I think because it just doesn't sound "right" America he's so beautiful. And alot of people say she for like machinies and stuff. See that car? "Ya she's a beaut" But I could be completely off. Or maybe its cuz woman are so great

well Canada doeesn't really see to have a sex, maby i'm just living ins a box, but i can't remember someone every saying somethign like "Canada, she's a great country". I agree with Nitroman, i think that it's just something that has gotten into american culture.
