I am gonna go out on a limb and say that BDash interacts with the environment better than anything else out there. If you were to slap it on a parking lot it would become a mediocre ride, at least for me.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

I'm sure Hades is WAY better than Megaphobia. A lot of American CCI's are good, and of course we have the Gravity Group's! [:D]

Quiet, fanboy. I admit that Hades kicked ass though.

OblivionFreak in no way represents the country that I live in and in no way represents the opinions of the masses. I really hope that everyone else is able to distance the rest of my country's populous from him.

For example:

"Also I would ask english coaster fans to go easy on the americans seeing as they have a very poor argument"

I'm sorry, but this guy is a love douche.

All English people harbour a healthy distain for everyone who lives outside of the British Isles, but OblivionFreak, please, I urge you to stop.

ANYWAY, as I see it:

In England and the UK in general, the local councils have a lot of traditions to uphold, which often culminates in massive restrictions being placed upon almost all UK parks. What this does is cause the parks and designers to be much more inventive with their creations and themeing and such. The problem with this, however, is that while forcing designers to be more imaginative, it also cuts off many if not most of the weapons available in a designers arsenal, such as height, speed, length, scale.

In America, on the other hand, you have the polar opposite situation. Where parks are, for the most part, almost unconstrained aside from the cost of the ride. What this lends itself to, is the designers and parks can now just pull out the big guns and not even really think about the other elements. By "big guns", I mean things like height and speed of course. In this situation, you end up with some awesome tracks that blow your mind, such as El Toro or something, but when you take in the experience of the ride as a whole, it's probably left a little bit lacking.

So, in general, we see UK parks having to focus on the overall experience of the ride a lot more to bring in the crowds whereas the US parks don't really have to consider this as "WORLD'S TALLEST" sells more park tickets. What would be awesome is if you could mix the two more often than we currently see.

Other points to consider, America has a shitload more money to piss about with and a shitload more space [lol] so they're bound to be able to create better coasters. But after all is said and done, I'm a coaster enthusiast and if you're gonna give me a choice between a trip around America or a trip around the UK, it's a no brainer kids. The actual coasters in America are of a far higher standard than you see here, comparible only to a few of the European coasters.

I don't know why we should argue about this... USA and UK are two different countries with two different "cultures".
American have all they need in their country (except Jet Coasters ? haha).
English can get all they need in Europe. It is nowadays very easy and as expensive as in USA (sometimes less) to travel abroad to make Park Trips. A friend has been to Germany, England, Scandinavia, Denmark, ... but never been to USA. Why ? He still has many things to discover in Europe.

I mean... USA is a huge country, UK or every country in Europe is at least 15 times less large than it. How on earth could we find the money and the space to make as many huge coasters as American does ?

As I said, Europe (England in this case) and USA are two totally different parts of the world with different funds... Don't debate or argue about what country is better about roller coasters, that's obviously USA. But Europe helps UK not to be as stripped of roller coasters as poeple can say.

(don't forget the civilated world started from Europe and UK)

Try not to connect the two too much, it's embarrassing enough to be associated with Europe at all, without people keep bringing it up! [lol]

Though America may have the majority of the large rides, I think we could use some smaller coasters in certain places. For example, here in Jacksonville we have this two-bit waterpark called Adventure Landing. They have a dry side which has go-karts, mini golf, and a kiddie coaster whose train is shaped like a caterpillar, but that is about it. The unused property would be prime grounds for an Intamin mega-lite clone of Piraten and Kawasemi.

A waterpark with a whacky worm is going to buy a $15,000,000 coaster. That sounds likely.

Which classic wooden coasters are you referring to here? Man, Blackpool has classic wooden coasters that are older than your country [lol]

England doesn't have that many good rides. America has tons of great rides. Heck, I have more great rides than all of England within 8 hours of me.

Match this...good luck:

El Toro

<..>

Alpengeist

Now add in all the other decent coasters I didn't include (Bizarro GAdv, Superman GAdv, Batwing, Hydra, Batman Dark Knight, Mantis, etc.), plus Midwest and West coast rides and you'll see there's no comparison. btw, out of all these, only 2 were put in a parking lot.

Technically they're not American rides since they're all made in Switzerland.

Yes, he's obviously aware of that fact, but that's not the question here. The question is, essentially, "In which country do the best coasters reside", not "In which country are the best coasters produced".

And it's not entirely true either, because the Swiss companies have manufacturing sites in the US also.

Sadly though, Switzerland wouldn't be the certain answer to this question, as we don't produce any woodies. [B)]

More SLC's in Europe? Actually the majority of Vekoma SLC's are found in the USA... [lol] (13 in Europe, 17 in America, 11 in Asia.)

"Butterfly" coasters on the other hand can only be found in Germany and a few of them in the surrounding countries. (Oh and 1 all the way in Asia! [lol])

I personally reallllyyyy couldn't care less which has better coasters. I'm happy just riding Nemesis, Grand national and some other goodies. And I'll be happy to ride the coasters further into Europe (Probably Netherlands or Germany or something like that) when I move there in my later life.

Finally somebody who realises it.Go and suck on this!Y'all would be love without Switzerland[lol].But I'll not go between the frontlines since I think this topic is a stupid flame war, started by a guy,who could be easily considerd as the Limitsfreak 2 and makes less sense than the China is a Asshole topic,so I would say that both country have their own rides but are not comparable since they're too different.
