My god, how can Six Flags simply flush this park away like this? For the past three years the park has gotten progressively worse. I know that other Six Flags parks are not even close to this bad. There was about 2500 people waiting to get into the park at opening, and the security and ticket crew sat around talking waiting for a manager to approve opening. The manager was 30 minutes late, so the park opened late. Superman, Golioth, X, Scream and Deja Vu were all down and Riddlers, Viper, and Batman were all one train op. The lines averaged about 2-3 hours for most of the open coasters. Over half the kiosks and food stands were closed (isn't this Summer high season?). The staff seemed like they could care less about the guests and most of the guests spent their time in line complaining about how bad the park was. There were a ton of thugs cutting in line as well. I'm not a small guy, and they cut right in front of me on the Riddler. The security guy was right there and he didn't utter a peep. This used to be by far my favorite park, and it is now probably the worst. I am dumbfounded considering the size of the market that Six Flags is allowing this park to be so mismanaged. It breaks my heart to say this was probably my last trip to MM for a long time.

That sucks, alot. People on the east coaster will be writing these same type of trip reports in a few years when SF lets SFGAdv fall into disarray.

Its really sad though. Alot of these crappier Six Flags parks have some really decent coasters and rides and the parks themselves have great potential but are being held by their will by being part of a company like Six Flags

For a second there, I thought the park was getting better (at least that were the reports from some of my friends, and other websites) but after this report, I'm not so sure.

Well, I wouldn't judge a park because of one review of it. Pdonahue could have just got the short end of the stick and picked a bad day to go where everything goes wrong.
The only real way to find out if the park is getting better or worse is to go a bunch of times for youself over the season and compare how it changes over time, or how it doesn't.

On average I have heard better things this year and last year as opposed to the couple years before. Especially since theyve put some capital investments into the park last year and most likly this year.

One day doesnt really give a goo idea on a parks overall feel like FN just mentioned. You need to go a few times on different days of the week to see how it operates.

Yep, there right. Last time i went to alton it was like pdonahue said SFMM was. Rita had like a 2 - 3 hour queue and they were still only running a 1 train operation. It broke down 4 times in the space i was queuing, and each time was down for about 20 mins. Then Ripsaw was down again, Air broke down, spinball had a massive queue as usual, Oblivion was sending round 2 of its cars empty! The only bug ride there running well was nemesis (whic i must say, is always running well, its probably one of the most reliable coasters ive ever been on!). The park was truely terrible on that day and alot of my friends hated it, and it was their first time at the park, or just they hadnt been in a long time. But when i normally go, they are running the rides pretty well, and its never as bad as that. Also the staff are usually alot nicer. On bad days they seem really horrible! It changes significantly depending on the day!
