another virus warning

I've got this one twice in the past day, and at the same time.
comes from:
jbaker@tbi.net
subject: no subject
body: nothing in the body
atatchments:
aol[3].html
height.bat <--this is the virus
abo.highlight[1].jpg

Only the height.bat checked out as a virus, I recommend not opening the other files as well.
So don't open anything from jkbaker@tbi.net if you get e-mail, immediately delete and empty delete folder.

Of course, why you would download a .bat file, especially from an email with nothing in the body, anyways?

apparently you don't have private domains and private e-mail that would result in you using e-mail software clients that are installed on your computer to access pop 3 and smtp server e-mail. mamhy members here do [:)]

pop3 emails all download automatically. So it's not much of a "choice" you just don't OPEN suspicious ones.

I guess POP3 is for advanced users.

you did not understand my post, I scanned all the files prior to opening anything. hence saying that only the height.bat checked out as a virus.
btw I contacted ISP, no respnse yet.

Because some people are stupid? Or they do it by accident? Or they don't look and just click?

Lots of reasons. I personally would never open one, but letting ppl know of a virus is just being nice. No need to try and make a nice gesture look like ppl are idiots.

i agree with gummie...people who make virus's and delibratly send them to other people need a major change in their poor sorry lives.

I'd love to see what's in that batch file.

Anyone who sends virii as a batch file can't have much more nonce than to stick in a "deltree c:\*.* /y" or something similar.
