Lately I've noticed a lack of B&M stand up coasters for NL and all the other simulators. I know that there haven't been any built in the last few years, so that probably explains why we are going away from this style. However, I think that it might be a good idea to do a stand up for a change.

So now I'll cut to the point. If anyone would like to join me in creating a B&M stand up please post here. If you are good at creating smooth track, using elementary, or the AHG, you might consider joining in. My end goal in this would be to create a fun ride that would earn a high rating. If you do post, please tell what you would like to do for the track. I'll probably be doing the supports, but if someone else also wants to do that then the work would be split up.

I apologize in advance if you consider this topic spam or if this is in the wrong category. If no one would like to join, then I think I'll just go ahead and make a B&M stand up anyways. So come help create a coaster that uses a style rarely seen anymore.

I doubt this topic will receive any posts.

Now that I know it won't just be me working on this, does anyone have ideas for a possible element order and ride layout?

i've done a few times myself also a stand up, but the biggest problem is that with an stand up it isn't realistic to have 5g's pulling on it. Same goes with other things. Laterals are way quicker into the 1 and 1.5g. Also i had a stand up coaster in progress with lots of theming. But that was on pauze so far... It was meant to be the first "launched stand up water coaster". A whole title. Also it was on a really small template. I'll try to pick up the ride when i can find some time for it [:)]

heres a layout:
135ft tall lift
drop (duh)
immelman
turn up
MCBR
down a little bit
into an in-line twist
up a tad
down a large turn down
up a u-turn
a loop with the twist trough it
bunny hills
brakes u-turn and station

eric, i think the MCBR is a little to quickly for a stand up coaster. At least it feels like that.

EDIT: Here is a picture of that ride what i meant:

I'll do some elementary if you want woodie man, as long as I don't have to do Cobra Rolls or diveloops. I'm not that good at immlemns (you'll see that in my invert that's coming), but I'll do them if you want. I think a layout more on the lines of Mantis or Georgia Schorcher would be good, with a lot of twists and heartlined turns, opposed to a ton of inversions.

^Yah, I wasn't thinking of a ride that has a ton of inversions packed in. Maybe 4 or 5.

And maybe in this order:

Loop
Dive loop/Immelman (Depends on a few factors)
Zero-g
Corkscrew (Flatspin)
Corkscrew (Flatspin)

And of course a few nice turn a helix maybe.

Well if you wanted to go with the B&M style, a Zero G roll would not be the way, as no B&M stand-u has one. The only stad-up with one is Shockwave at Drayton Manor, and that one was designed by Intamin and built by Giovanola. Maybe an inclined loop or a cobra roll.

^Now I realize why no stand ups have zero g's. The forces probably get too extreme. In that case, a tradional inclined loop would probably be better. It's been a fixture on all the stand ups that were built by B&M since they left Intamin.

i think they don't have zero g's because the lateral g's in the outern seats would be too much for a stand-up ride...

well, lemme compare dragon kahn. Imagine that with stand up trains. If you are there in the outern seats. You get a 1g swing allready. Maybe intamin did a better job with handeling the g-forces in a zero g roll. Well, very maybe i have the change to ride it this year, or else next year. [:)]

It's not a slanted loop. The right term is inclined loop.

And yes, I like Chang's better too.

i meant inclined but i just came back froma a parade/marching band competition in 95 degree weather and i woke up at 5:30 after a football game til 11

anyway, Woodie Man-- chang's looks cool, but i think riddlers is the better color scheme so i chose that one

chang needs to be painted big time all the paint is chipping off throughout the whole ride and if the do repaint it they should make it sky blue track and and light purple supports

I think what Chang has now looks fine. Just a new coat of paint would make it look better.
