BARF-Labs ("Buster And Redunzelizer Formula Laboratories") are hereby proud to present you the latest throw ups of our ongoing mathnerdy co-obnoxications:

Creating NoLimits Elements by "Force Vector Design", Version 1.1

We have put more than half a year and literally hundreds of manhours of discussion, programming and testing into this, with eventually releasing the initial 1.0 version to a small group of innocent victims some time ago. Now, with this current release, yet more work has been put into bugsplatting, massive improvelence in accurracy, plus additional confuzzelization by even providing some incomprehensible documentation.

Buster & me have now decided that your lives have become a bit too happy lately! Finding that our ongoing work on these FVDs almost wrecked our own lives, we thought that you as well should get your badly deserved share of hellish brainmelting and suffer...

So, do get your share of pain right here:
http://home.arcor.de/stephan.krautsdorf ... VD-v11.zip

Included within the above .zip-file there are:
+ FVD-eformulas (commented, available with 6, 12 and 18 'time zones')
+ FVD-eformulas ("-u" types, functioning same as above, but undocumented)
+ FVD-Transition Pool (further transition-functions for use within FVDs)
+ Readable FVD-eformula ("-z06" provided as plain text-file, for overviewing)
+ HTML-README (FVD-documentation, including common troubles and solutions)

ATTENTION PLEASE: With using these FVDs you are on your very own! Since we are simply unable to maintain a couple of different threads on a quite complex topic like this, the ongoing FVD-discussion on coastersims.com will probably be the one and only place in space to get any further information. Sorry, but we are already more than busy with maintaining that one discussion. Also, you also are NOT allwed to redistribute or reupload these on another website. The download link posted above is the ONLY valid at time of this writing. Thank you in advance for understanding.

Questions? There will be many! Do stick to the included html-README! A decent practice on how to handle the Elementary program will certainly be required but will not be provided here.

Do also take a look at Rebekka's FVD-pages: http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/p3161 You there will find some charts showing (parts of) the FVD workflow, screenshots depicting various user inputs as well as pointing to some common catches. Since these FVD-charts are "work in progress", please care to revisit Rebekka's NLDC pages again over times!

So, these FVDs are handed out to you "AS IS". Therefor do neither expect any support, nor any examples, nor any spoon feeding with possible input values! You have been warned, now go ahead and have fun! Or at least try to....

Your friendly neighborhood mathnerds,

Buster & redunzelizer

It's entirely based on "Quantum Bogodynamics"!

Please get educated here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_bogodynamics
http://catb.org/~esr/jargon/html/Q/quan ... amics.html

So in other words: We actually take the mixed feelings of some terrified FVD-user and confuzzelize these into an incomprehensible number scheme. Then, we find a so called "track path" that most probably resembles the mindless efforts of said user. This number scheme of course is set up in a way so that any reasonable input is futile.

Hope this explains it better. [8D]

Before getting accused of providing erroneous information and also to prove just that enormous bogosity potential which lies in these FVDs, I have put together some bogodynamic Eurofighter test track.

The entire track, from the top of Lift up to including the MCBR, was made with one single FVD-formula! (the 18 zone variant)

Get lifted, dropped, and eurofighted right here: [:p]

Thanks for posting it over here too! I'm sure lots of people will love it (if they can understand it). Thank you so much!

Thanks a lot for posing this here. Looking at buster's and your NLDC page, the possibilities are huge! Great job to you two [:)]

Peeps!

Actually there isn't anything special to thank me for, or us, in this case!

While I do know very well where I personaly prefer to lead particular discussions and where not, I do reckognize the NoLimits community as a whole and in all it's variations of appearance, totally independent from my own distinct likings.

Hence our contributions will beat you up as well as any others. [:P]

That's all, and that's it.

Not very involved math if you don't worry about trying to understand the actual formulas. All you need to know how to do is add and subtract mostly, and have a decent knowledge of track shaping and force estimation.

I doubt I will understand it at all, but I think I will give this a look this week.

Yeah I might even try it! From the sounds of it, it is less confusing than Elementry (?)

Wow. I'm trying my hardest to understand how to make things with it, but the most I've gotten so far was a headache.

I made some stuff with it, but I would not want to put it on a coaster, once I get above Math 20 and into Calculus I will have a better understanding of math, and be able to make better things with elementary, as of now, I dont have the education. But the FVD example coaster is NICE, all that from one formula, although it has several different little formulas stacked together to make a big one, it still is amazing, math has no limits (well, its uses dont)

Amazing work as always.

I'm beginning to understand the whole thing. Only a nice corkscrew won't show up [:(] For the rest: great formulas!

Edit: Finally I got a proper element plotted [xx(] a mix of a B&M-drop, sort of diveloop and a corkscrew. For those who are just starting with these formulas: take the time to understand it.. I was scared of it in the beginning, too, but once you get the hang of it you can make wonderful elements!

The only thing I still want to know is how to begin an element straight. Anyone? [:I]

Ah man, i tried to use elemtary before, and best thing i got was a helix. This just makes my head explode, i wish i know how to use it though!

wow... I'm impressed. This looks incredibly cool, and seems to remove some of the limitations of the original elementary formulas. G-force based design enables for less restricted insanely twisted elements while still able to maintain a distinctive style that was hard with the old ones. I love it! Thanks, red! I think I'm actually gonna start using this.

nice work! I'm almost to that point in getting the formula to work for me... I'm hoping to turn out a purely FVD ride within the next week (after finals, of course). Keep up the good work!

Depending on the ride type, i think it could be a bad idea to do a ride entirely FVD.

^well, not entirely...that was poor wording on my part lol. Point is that I will use FVD as much as possible (ie majority) of the ride, as opposed to making a bunch of flat helixies or something.
