B&M introduced the floorless coaster first with Medusa at Six Flags great adventure in 1999 and it was an instant hit. Since 10 more models have been made, each with their own qualities, and one being a copy of Medusa. Today floorless coasters are as popular as ever, and dive machines took the floorless trend too. Other companies such as Maurer Sohne and Vekoma are even working on their own versions of floorless coasters, hoping to be as successful as B&M. In my opinion, these coasters are some of the best around! Sitting in the front row being so close to the track, watching it twist in front of you, seemingly inches below your feet. You cant get that same experience anywhere in the world.

So Which one do you think is the best?

Me-

I personally think Hydra is my favorite when you ride in the back. The jojo roll, drop, and the 0-g roll make it for me. Plus its overbank thing, and its airtime hills. I also like that its a bit rough at points. People claim its so rough that its bad, but if you ride in the second to back its incredible, and plus its just shaky, not really rough to the point of being headbangy. I like that the corkscrew at the end is smooth too, because corkscrews are fun when you dont have to brace for the whip on top. I feel like if they changed the wheels it would be REALY smooth. Was it rough on opening day?

Although Superman la Atraccion de Acero looks to be really good. I like the drop and the long slow rotating 0-g roll. Plus the airtime hill.

Following close behind for me is kraken, dominator, and medusa.

For me it was between superman Krypton coaster or Daemonen, but I picked Daemonen in the end because it looked like it had the best layout and was the most unique.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

i've ridden only 3 floorless coasters, Medusa, Scream, and Hydra. Hydra was a horrible ride, i barely consider it B&M at all. Scream was in a dismal location. Medusa i've ridden well over 200 times. So I'm picking Medusa.

I might be a little biased [:D]

Theyre all pretty much the same generic coasters. Only major difference/outstanding factors i see in any of those is location/themeing.

I love Hydra, Its small but forceful. When your ride it in the back the g forces on the first drop absolutley rip you to peices. And I love the tilted immelmann :)

You could say the same thing about intamin prefabs too but they are some of the best in the world. And the features that they carry are all great ones.

Hydra is ok. Fun to ride, easy to work. It gets my vote because out of the3 I have been on, its the most unique.

(1. Hydra, 2. Batman at SFNE, 3. Bizarro)

I must confess that I go on Batman @ SFNE when I want to relax. It is quite soothing when you ride with your eyes closed.

ive only been on three: batman sfne, scream, and kraken. Kraken was fun, scream is meh, but batman at sfne is pretty cool. i like the layout. I have to say though, that Daemonen looks the best, but im only judging the ones ive been on.

I really love that ride at night. It actually i think is up there with dominator for me. In that phase of rough b&ms it was and is very smooth, and has a great layout and 0g roll. Plus the drop is very good. You get a really good vertical dive sensation. Alot like a dive loop. Plus it has a dive loop, which i love. The feeling of going up and turning so gracefully and easily diving upsidedown, without a single unwanted force. It is so soothing. When i go there and im tired, me and my friends go on batman.

I like Hydra the best, personally. I just thought it was a cool little ride. Daemonen was a blast, though, so I'd say that's a close second. All of the others seem like the same ride to me, even with their slight discrepancies.

I've been on every American B&M on the list and I agree with Hydra, great coaster in the back.

Out of all of them I would say Dominator is the worst. Terrible ride.

Just wondering, what is so bad about it? I've never ridden it. (legitimate question, not disagreeing with anything said)

I've only been on Kraken and Dominator (When it was batman Knight Flight) I liked Kraken more, but Dominator was fun too.

Medusa SFDK.

It's Kraken...with a serpent roll, which is on no other B&M floorless! I luv it!

And it's settled on quite an attractive parking lot as well. I can barely tell when i've seen POV's of it. Compared to Scream...which just looks hideous in every way, and mirrors Medusa at SFGAdv.
"Don't be a disability"... yep, still keeping that. :P

I've been on Hydra, Dominator (both parks), Batman TDK, and Kraken, and I think the speed and intensity of Dominator is unmatched by any other floorless.
