Favorite =/= best. Many people have sentimental favorites too. My opinion is that I can say that SROS is better and "that you've been on" doesn't necessarily apply.
Hypothetical question here. If you were to go to say, Holiday World, rode all three wood coasters, and ended up liking Raven best out of everything you've ever been on, would you admit it and call it your favorite coaster/the best coaster you've been on (I think that sentimental thing is BS; usually ones favorite ride is what they consider the best they have been on), or are you too set on thinking Voyage is the best coaster of the three (and whatever place you've predetermined it would hold with your other coasters) based on watching videos? And just saying "I know Raven wouldn't be my favorite" would just further back up my point. Honest reply please.
I think sentimental favorites are dumb too but that's up to the person who lists them. I don't do that.
I like what I like, not because I think I will like it, but because it's actually better to me. I highly doubt Raven would be my favorite, as in general I know what features I prefer, but if that situation were to happen, after riding I'd rank them by what I thought was best. No reason for me to say Voyage is best after riding if I don't like it best.
How any single person claim they know what the best coaster is?
Of course everbody has their own opinions about what's the best and what's not. So I can believe that if person A says Coaster Z is the best and then person B says 'you're wrong'.
Anyways, my all time favorite ride is Montu @ BGA. Might be topped by Katun, as I haven't ridden that one yet.
